I think Mundy nails this, if it's a teammate he's protecting the teammate. Because it's an oppo player he doesn't have the same care and instead is happy to throw his body in. Honestly if Maynard gets off it will be the biggest disgrace in AFL tribunal history.

I think we are about to hear some real s--t from Collingwood. And even more if it goes to appeal.

I know Collingwood are one of the 'big clubs', but the AFL should be putting a very hard word on them not to legally appeal the tribunal decision, as should the AFLPA.

So much complexity between the two teams on this incident.  Corey as a former player, Peter Maynard the GM (or CEO) of the Casey Demons FC, as someone else mentioned Kate Hore is dating Brayden's brother too.... Then there is the whole aspect of Brayshaws/Frawleys etc....

Jobe wasn't "screwed", he was banned for drugs not permitted by WADA at the time and therefore could not win the brownlow. Pretty simple

He was screwed by his own club. Pressures on him to confirm under the Hird regime would have been immense on such a young man.

I didn't mean he shouldn't have lost the Brownlow.  It was the corrrect decison, just that he was let down by people who should have cared for him was shocking.

He'll go for 12+ weeks if that's the angle their advocate takes.... i.e that would suggest they have nothing.

Their fan base has bleated about that, but it won't form part of their case.

Depends on what he has to say. If he is willing to speak up for Maynard, and is medically capable, the Pies lawyers will call him. If not, the AFL lawyers probably will not. Bit of a toss up really. We would have to be much closer to the legal action and discussions to really know.

What time does the tribunal kick off? 5.30 or so?

if dangermouse is still their spokesperson (whatever) they will stay quiet. he has already come out and said it was accidental (footy action), nothing to see here.

why an aflpa spokesperson  would make a statement like that before a hearing is very poor judgement

If it was an on field report, it should be the umpire giving his views on what happened.

My Hatred of Collingwood has gone to another level, some of the comments I’ve heard from their feral fan base about Gus & our club has turned my stomach over

l need to stay off social media, it really brings out the worst in people

The flowers didn't make it to a vase!

I'm confident that they will not be calling Brayshaw to defend Maynard's careless actions that could cost him the rest of the season, his career and long term health.  Joining the dots, I'd say everyone involved at mfc is seething on this.  He knocked him unconscious for 2 minutes. I hate that it needs to be a motivating factor, but if the players are not breathing fire right from the opening bounce on Friday night, I'm not sure they ever could.
