We kept them to 2 behinds in that final term. We had chances. Friita, sparrow and Pickett all kicking it out on the full.

Max botching his pass and his shot for goal earlier, Langdon selfishly taking the advantage when he didn't have to in the 3rd quarter. Pickett missing some easy ones.

Trac went missing. Oliver's kicks went nowhere & van Rooyen realised finals is a whole new level

Yep, there was a potential goal for Kozzy in the 2nd. Fritsch didn't Shepard the defender, touched.

A goal to.put us back to 10 pts and with momentum change in the 2nd.

There was one in the first as well.

He smothered and then put a shoulder into Gus' head.

Can't wait for the AFL to rule it as him 'protecting himself'.

He might get a week for the head butt on viney not a good look

I would do it again. Maynard is a serial thug. He lines up players. Same with Cox. Bog ordinary footballers who deserve some of their own medicine back.

OK, not going to argue but just think wishing potential career ending injuries is a bit too much.

Hope Gus is OK and able to play in the preliminary

With so many inside 50’s, Spargo could have been a difference with his smart forward play. He should replace Chandler next week.

Our bomb it in strategy just has to stop. I believe in this group of coaches but can someone please coach our forwards to lead and our mids to lower the eyes.

If we’re still doing this rubbish next year serious questions will have to asked. It’s just unacceptable for a finals team to have such a basic forward 50 plan. I know we have players out but it’s been the same strategy when everyone is fit. I’m sick of it. Same old story. Sort it out ffs.

Gus copping a concussion could also be career ending!
Maynard lined up a guy going into open space running full tilt. In a [censored] helmet because he’s had a long history of head injuries. It was a pathetic thug move.

If Pies can mark those bombs why couldn't we ?

We certainly  had like 30 more than they did.

I’ll just leave this here:

Goodwin: “In finals, your vulnerabilities are exposed”

Our vulnerability is our ability to score. It’s been our vulnerability for 2 years, and we thought we could fix it with an old forward who hasn’t played AFL footy in months

To be fair we ran out of options. Petty and Melksham going down left us with nothing else.
We need to move heaven and earth to get another forward.

So why do you want Cox to do his ACL?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
