POSTGAME: QF vs Collingwood

Featured Replies

We kept them to 2 behinds in that final term. We had chances. Friita, sparrow and Pickett all kicking it out on the full.ย

Max botching his pass and his shot for goal earlier, Langdon selfishly taking the advantage when he didn't have to in the 3rd quarter. Pickett missing some easy ones.

Trac went missing. Oliver's kicks went nowhere & van Rooyen realised finals is a whole new levelย

Yep, there was a potential goal for Kozzy in the 2nd. Fritsch didn't Shepard the defender, touched.

A goal to.put us back to 10 pts and with momentum change in the 2nd.

There was one in the first as well.

He smothered and then put a shoulder into Gus' head.

Can't wait for the AFL to rule it as him 'protecting himself'.

ย

He might get a week for the head butt on viney not a good lookย

I would do it again. Maynard is a serial thug. He lines up players. Same with Cox. Bog ordinary footballers who deserve some of their own medicine back.ย

ย

OK, not going to argue but just think wishing potential career ending injuries is a bit too much.

Hope Gus is OK and able to play in the preliminaryย

Bomb bomb bomb....so damn predictable and I start to wonder about intelligence of who keeps this going.ย

Spray town & we let them take it.ย

We must collect ourselves - hard road now but still believe in us this year.ย

Had 2 touched and 5 ducks. What a player ๐Ÿคฎ

Mate they even interviewed N Daicos, not even playing. The darlings of channel 7. ๐Ÿคข๐Ÿคข๐Ÿคข

With so many inside 50โ€™s, Spargo could have been a difference with his smart forward play. He should replace Chandler next week.

ย

Our bomb it in strategy just has to stop. I believe in this group of coaches but can someone please coach our forwards to lead and our mids to lower the eyes.

If weโ€™re still doing this rubbish next year serious questions will have to asked. Itโ€™s just unacceptable for a finals team to have such a basic forward 50 plan. I know we have players out but itโ€™s been the same strategy when everyone is fit. Iโ€™m sick of it. Same old story. Sort it out ffs.

He won't get suspended for either. He's not missing a prelim for that

Gus copping a concussion could also be career ending!ย
Maynard lined up a guy going into open space running full tilt. In a [censored] helmet because heโ€™s had a long history of head injuries. It was a pathetic thug move.ย

I feel for you all as Iโ€™m feeling.ย
ย

That was a missed opportunity.ย

If Pies can mark those bombs why couldn't we ?

We certainlyย  had like 30 more than they did.

Iโ€™ll just leave this here:

Goodwin: โ€œIn finals, your vulnerabilities are exposedโ€

Our vulnerability is our ability to score. Itโ€™s been our vulnerability for 2 years, and we thought we could fix it with an old forward who hasnโ€™t played AFL footy in months

He has to go along with Laurie.

I'd bring Spargo and Jordan in

To be fair we ran out of options. Petty and Melksham going down left us with nothing else.ย
We need to move heaven and earth to get another forward.ย

So why do you want Cox to do his ACL?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Nightโ€™s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourneโ€™s memorable premiership triumph.

Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, weโ€™ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binmanโ€™s Stats Files. Not because it isnโ€™t important; quite the opposite. Itโ€™s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourneโ€™s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last yearโ€™s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although itโ€™s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sundayโ€™s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to foolโ€™s gold.

Never in doubt!!! In Steven Kingโ€™s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
