Norf have 2 end of first. Reckon WCE will get a priority also. Will be some f/s and band 1,2 and 3 compo.  We finish too 4 and this pick is likely late 30s,early 40s.  Go home Justin, you're drunk.

Said it before, this is like Peter Vardy all over again. I hope McAdam is as fun to watch.

I'll be the judge of that.

@Binmans PA has put the memo on your desk, Bin?

Though it appears it would be an unpopular executive decision.

Going back to the OP (some thread it's turned out to be, eh, @FrothiesLiam?!) recall these points by Rucci, informative for 'where to now?':

'[He]...rejected a two-year offer [from Crows] when he wanted three.' [described later as 'the key point']

'One reason for McAdam’s...departure is differences between he and the club’s fitness staff...[He]...suffered both a thigh injury and fractured cheekbone in 2023.'

'There are also some other issues that have emerged through the year in that there's clearly a difference of opinion or style between him and the fitness coaches of Adelaide as to what was best for his preparations and so forth.'

'When you get that sort of unsettled moment in a footy club that can keep rolling along.'

'He has put out the feeler to Melbourne, they've put their arms around him...' [I liked this. It's what we do 😊]

But Melksham was only playing because all our key fwds and Fritta were injured.  He played outstanding when he wa in and couldn't be dropped.  But had Fritta been playing i doubt Melk would have even got an opportunity.

Different sorts of players.

In that set up McAdam starts on the bench and becomes to rotation for Fritsch, Petty and JVR.  Which when i look at it that way i don't mind.  Especially if JVR is going to be our back up ruck.

I need to get it into my head that McAdam is now a Dee and i MUST love him now! I WILL love him, just give me time!

Good, he is a link player with all the speed and necessary attributes, inc speed to cover forward line connection and precise  delivery.

Hmmmm a difference of opinion between he and fitness staff.  We have no idea what that's about but that of course is the guru Darren Burgess. I know who I'd be respecting in that dispute and its not the player.

Clarry had a well documented dispute with our fitness head as well.

He does seem to be like Vardy was but also, he's got traits that are similar to Charlie Cameron - let's hope he is half as good. Statistics seem to indicate some abilities in this regard, so the Choco finishing school for wayward innocents will be important.

keep in mind in his 4 years in AFL he’s mostly been playing for a bottom 4 team. if he can stay fit it could be an exciting get

I think you should reconsider your dispute resolution.

Burgess apparently repeatedly implied that his ‘tightness’ was in his head and then he was out for weeks. Burgess is a great performance manager but hubris is not beyond him.

Burgess was apparently talking about his hip pocket not his hip. Breakdown in communication.

You're a smart man, Old.

Thanks, pity I was wrong, we do have an extra F3 via Harmes.

Won't be the first or last time ...

Maybe we use that for Billings?

Welcome to the MFC Shane McAdam, thanks for choosing us and for your patience during the drawn out negotiation period. Very happy that you have come onboard we are really lacking fwd 50 fire power and I believe you have the potential to make a big difference at the Dee’s. Good luck, stay healthy and have a great time at our mighty club.

But at least you gave it a go!

The future second pick (from the Swans) could be up to pick 40 by this time next season, really, who cares? Telling McAdam that we rate him enough to trade a second round pick for him might just give him a bit of additional confidence. Who knows.. but I’m not going to waste time (after this post) arguing about whether we paid too much.

Welcome to Demonland Shane.
Just be warned and aware this can be a bit of a madhouse sometimes so take with a grain - no perhaps a big sack - of salt some of what you will be reading here.
There will Inevitably some who will label you a failure, waste of space or worse unless you come close to the Coleman, the Brownlow and the Norm

Most of us here though will support you and give you every chance to prove yourself

Welcome

Fwd locks: Petty, JVR, Fritsch, ANB, Kossie

McAdam is probably competing with Smith, Chandler, Spargo and Laurie for the last two slots - I'd fancy him ahead of that group.  Maybe AMW or even Sestan will surprise and jump up the order.

Agree with the 5 you've got but we generally take 7 - 8 into the game.   2-3 on ballers who have turns on bench and forward (mainly ANB and Petracca but also Kossie).  Then one designated forward rotating through the bench - say Smith and either Chandler, McAdam or Melksham when fit.

If they decide to use Fullarton in the same way we used Jackson 2021.  Then he takes one of those spots.
