Aussies playing the opposite to Bazball.

And getting Bogged on! Why is it that the ball swings all over the place when we bat?? In spite of that INSIPID effort by Aussies. God I hate Broad, Puggsly Bairstow and Stokes follow close behind!

We had one game plan last year, and teams figured us out. We will see if the Pies game plan is good enough. They really don’t have anything else if plan A doesn’t work.

While it might frustrate some fans, I love that Goodwin has tried many different line ups and strategies. Opposition coaches can’t know how we will approach the game.

Watching the Pies players continue with manic football in the last minute only confirms for me that they risk burning out before the end of September.

Their last three games are almost as tough as our last three games last season - the cats at the g on the Friday night, the lions (also a Friday night) at marvel and the bombers at the g.

On paper, the bombers is the easiest of those games, but it will be a massive crowd and the bombers might be playing for a spot in the eight.

We saw last year, with our games against the pies, blues and lions, how high pressure, high stakes, finals like games leading into finals can flatten a team.

When we consider that it’s small percentages that make the difference in AFL, playing high stakes, tough games in the final rounds can drain teams. How the Pies play, and how McRae seems to have them playing to the final minute, means they’re likely to be stretched even further to “get it done”.

I think McRae will learn a valuable lesson in squad management and season planning come the end of September.

Great stat and something has defined the narrative around the pies all season. In a lot of game teams should be out of sight of them before the last quarter starts. Hopefully all the close games are now starting to catch up on them.

Didn't see it, went to see the Bell Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet.

Quick mini watch and there you go. If you needed any more proof that Collingwood were vulnerable on the counter then that was it, think a lot of opposition coaches will be watching this tape.

Was also quite refreshing to see Collingwood miss a pile of chances for a change.

While this loss does nothing and their fate is pretty much sealed I am hoping they will falter like this in September. Arrivederci my fellow 40 short!

Would have preferred the Pies to get up. Only good thing about the result is Cerra’s hammy! Hopefully he’s out for our game.

In reading Demonland for years I put DubDee's comment above as one of the funniest ever. Really appeals to my sense of humour.

Jeremy Howe…yup he's a forward.

Can anyone tell me why he wears a black sleeve on his left arm? Have I missed something?

The conditions again were against us, when the lights are on at 11.30am with a heavy cloud cover it’s always going to swing

Aussies we’re a bit negative with the bat but overall a good effort to get a lead

It wasn’t INSIPID at all, are you always such an angry man?

Blues up to 5th! The Carlton hordes will be up and about. I'm surrounded by them at work.

I have to admit their choke last year was hilarious. One of the funniest things ever. I almost felt sorry for them. Almost. Would be fun to watch them stuff it up again this year but i don't think they will. I think they'll finish 5-6. They'll be a tough opponent in a semi final for one of the losing QF teams.

I really don't want Power to win the minor premiership.

Were Pies fatigued last night or are Carlton a good side. Was their Power win legit or did Power rest too many players?

They have had some soft opposition of late but they did look good last night. They have a good run home from here too.

Didn't he break an arm? Probably to protect it in some manner.

Or he's mourning the fact he left a premiership team.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
