Always good to lock away first round draftees. He's still got more size to put on, but all reports from Casey are he's developing nicely and is seriously capable in the air. Existing prospect for the future. Good onya Jeffo!

Apparently the lads call him the "magician", must have something to do with his skills perhaps? Any info on that?

I vaguely remember it being about how he manages to grab marks whilst in awkward positions in the air...or something to that effect

I have 2 great jokes here, but neither of them are appropriate.

Because he loves to steal our Western Australian talls and over pay for them

Burst out of the blocks the first few weeks before some really grinding games, but I think he’s settled in the last month or so with some byes freshening the legs.

His forward pressure on the weekend was a couple of levels above anything I’ve seen from him before that.

If he can develop that aspect of his game as well as finding more of the ball he’ll be a lot closer to playing with the big boys.

He was really good on the weekend. I know we played Coburg and they are terrible, but he looked promising both in the air and at ground level.

He needs to put on more muscle so he doesn't get push off the ball at AFL level, but I reckon he has all the markings of a good modern day KPF. Athletic, able to take contested marks as well as compete for the ground ball.

Did Ashburton up and move to Perth?

Wouldnt even hesitate to sign on to an AFL club for another 3 years without having played a senior game

We did it with JVR and aren't you glad we did!

I trust that our coaches, who watch him play each week and train multiple times a week, know exactly what they are doing.

I was sure he's a WA boy. Did I get him mixed up with Jed Adams?

you never heard of jefferson ford?

Jefferson, Jefferson, Jefferson Ford. *toot toot*

his dad went to same primary school as my kids. lived a block away.

El Jefe!

The way he moves reminds me a lot of Wattsy, very relaxed and easy the way he glides across the ground. Hopefully with a strong club culture and development program he can become the forward we all hoped Wattsy would be

How big is the lad now out of curiosity ??  cheers

BB he mentioned that he has already put on 6kg so that is a good start and he is listed at 195cm 6’4” same as Shwarter.

Well done Mathhew Jefferson and MFC sounds like the young bloke is starting to build nicely, another pre-season and another 6kg on that frame and watch out we’ll have JvR and Jefferson Ford running around with Fritta, Kozzie and Chandler then look out.!!!

If he told you the real reason it might surprise you. EXCELLENT NEWS! Lovely young man with a postive outlook and a quick learner. Another 5 Kilos and strong pre season and look out, we will have our very own David Nietz CLONE!

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
