Stringer is the AFL’s Nelson Muntz.

Has reached his ideal playing height but not his ideal playing weight

Another free directly in front of goal.

The last 10 minutes has been appalling.  It’s almost crisis time for the AFL.

Blues have gone from 3-2 to 3-8

Voss is gone

After careful consideration I’ve decided that what the AFL is missing is more umpires and more free kicks

Half the team is still on the Teague train.

I think I have come to the conclusion that I need therapy. One I am watching Essendon v Carlton and two this umpiring is as horrible as both of these clubs.

When you watch Carlton you get no sense of a team playing together whatsoever.

This is a birthday de Koning will want to forget.

They don’t care.

Do we honestly see anything changing with Gil going?

He waited for the tackle and then ducked.

Why didn’t we trade for that Ranga kid Wright? He can kick a goal two.

Given the availability on offer in the top 4….surely not Essendon?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
