Walsh is on $1m and I doubt we have that room in the cap and I am not sure he's worth it.

No ones paying all of that. He’s a first round pick and $750, Carlton can pay the rest.

Rubbish. Walsh is a free agent next season and will get a monster deal if he leave Carlton.

He has had Multiple Back Surgeries. He is worth nowhere near that.

Luke Jackson is worth the big contract

Agree with SWYL. Wouldn't go near Walsh. Wouldn't go near McKay either for his price tag.

I’ve heard the “he’s cooked” about so many players who have then moved clubs and regained past form. To be honest above all I’d take Jackson. I reckon a mobile, strong marking ruck who can play forward would be ideal. It’s also a magnificent story and an up yours to Freo. It’s a win win win. Who doesn’t love a win win win?

almost as good as a bang bang bang

Do we want McKay? History suggests that we do. Will we pay his salary? Not when we have bigger fish to fry like keeping Kosi.

And we don't need Walsh, he's a Temu version of Clarry.

if we put 2026 first rounder on the table and Blues coughed up $250K of his salary, then i think that would be a fair trade. Maybe throw in this years 2nd rounder for good measure.

What do we need for Kalani White? In terms of draft picks to get him.

McKay could be a very good CHF if he does some serious work on his kicking, he would be a solid 2nd Ruck.

But he sure as hell aint worth a $ million Bucks a year.

Poor Carlscum have totally butchered their Playing list…they are the wost kicks in the League by a long way

Cripps getting 44 votes in the Brownlow, what an absolute joke, he is a solid player, but nowhere near that level.

Sam Walsh is cooked. He has the Back of a 60 year old.

They should've let him come to the Dees at the end of 2022.

We would've won two more premierships and Carlton would have more cap space and balance in their list. Huge missed opportunity 😜

You might be right. I was more talking out of hope than reality. I do that from time to time. Like in Roost it Far world there’s quite a lot of differences to current reality. I won’t bore you with details.

We should 100% be interested if it is a salary dump situation

I don’t know what we could offer to make a deal work but we’ve been crying out for a McKay style player for years

2m players who can take marks, kick goals and chop out in the ruck are invaluable, and I dare say if he was on our list in 2023 we would have won the flag

Plus with his kicking for goal, he’ll fit right in 🤣

Carlton are likely to win their next 4. Essendon, West Coast, North and Port. I wouldn't be writing them off just yet.

There are not terrible but they are not great either.

Not many good disposers. And they are not a young team. They do not look like a top 4 team and I’m not sure there’s improvement to come to make them top 4. I don’t think their list is in great shape. McKay is the obvious sacrifice to try to improve them elsewhere.

I now nominate you for president of Demonland RIF.

At best, Carlscum are 50/50 against Norf, ArmageDON and Port.

Hahaha, it’s a kind offer but in my world there’s no Presidents!

Yep, LJ for me ... big return home, still lots to offer.

I prefer LJ but would also take McKay if not too expensive.

McKay would fill the BBB role plus a tad more on occasions imv.

We need a big marking beast up forward. Fill him with kicking confidence. A new change of scenery / crew and he'd be right as rain.

Trade in this bloke and our kicking coach will be the one taking a mental health break.

Yikes!

McKay is also the 2nd highest rated 2nd ruck only behind Blitzavs (Champion Data).

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
