Similarly experienced line up didn’t help us vs Richmond at Casey 2 weeks ago, but last week was a good win vs Box Hill away, so who knows?

Yeah, I feel like it's not the forward's fault exclusively. Both teams aren't delivering it that well to them at times.

Still some work to do not just to bomb it in from 60 or 70 out.

Which in a positive way, is great as both teams are near the top of the ladder and still have room to improve how they get it in to the forwards I think.

I reckon we're running at 80 percent of our potential.

Dunstan out is a big loss. He’s virtually BOG every week.

Tmcd rested to get his body 100%.  At least we hope there is no further ongoing foot issues.  Whilst he’s not in form, having him fit for a late season cameo might be handy.

Wow, looking at this picture and reading the words I can hear Don Adam's funny voice.

One of the funniest scenes from that show was when 99s mother came to live with them. She witnessed Max fighting with several enemy agents. She looked at 99 and said she had no idea the greeting card business was so tough.

Mel Brooks was just a wonderful comedy producer

Would not mind seeing Woewodin playing the small forward role today for a half or so to see how he goes.

Similarly play Laurie on the HBF for a while.

IMO fringe players are wise to develop in say two positions to maximise their chances of a senior game.

I wonder where we will see Joel S play today? Is he the Lever understudy or the secret weapon forward ?

Joel would make the perfect sub can play forward/back.

That Gold Coast side is strong seasoned bodies on all lines. If we are to get over the top of them, there will need to be some performances that would have the selectors excited. Personally, I hope Howes at half back shows composure and nous to take the game on. Bbb, melksham, smith; all will need to make the most of opportunity as I believe their midfield has our measure. (I rate sharp on the wing as afl quality, had freo obtained him in trade period imv our future picks wouldn’t be looking as rosy)

Whilst it is disappointing for Dunstan to be out for an extended stretch it should allow increased midfield minutes for Laurie and Woewodin to develop their midfield  game. I hopefully we also provide opportunity for Sestan and Howes to increase their centre bounce attendances which they have done a few times this season. It’s good to have a strong Casey but the most important element is developing our future Dees.

Watching him up close at Wonthaggi last week his athleticism was amazing

If he could stay healthy his up side is unlimited

a bird's eye view with this camera angle

not bad for giving an overall view of play

Really high up and way down at one end of the ground. Reminds me of the camera angle at VFL Park.

Gold Coast have 20 listed AFL players (including 9 rookies) in that side all the way down to the bench where Josh Corbett, formerly listed AFL player is selected.  That's a strong team.

For those that love getting triggered by lineups.

Haha!  It's almost like they've been listed simply in order of jumper numbers.

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
