Not to labour the point but...................... why the [censored] are we STILL playing Geelong in Geelong?? Their reduced ground capacity because of yet another govt funded expansion (just GAGF) will see Dee fans get about 35 seats and a max crowd of 17K. Seriously WTF? It should be at Colonial or the G.

I'll just have a bex and lie down for a sec.

PS Adelaide's crowds are lame given how well they're doing.

You're not. We need another post to add to the 10,456 already on this topic.

Exaggerated figures for GWS. Obviously included stadium and car park attendants, pie sellers, janitors, etc.

Our attendance last year was brilliant and we’ve carried on with it again this year. Membership number vs attendance, we’re number 1 in the elegies. Statistically the most loyal fans second year running now if this keeps up. Great effort Dees fans!

I'd reckon it would be concerning to the AFL that only one interstate club is in the top 9.

Something not right about these figures. Most haven't changed since your original posting in April. Ours is exactly the same but we had several massive games after that. Couldn't be exactly the same.

I gather they must be home and away totals not just home games. There's no way GWS were getting average crowds of 18,473 more like half that on a good day.

& the orange boys

Scrap the Alice Springs nonesense.

3000 crowd was embarrasing and wont be any better next year.

Dont give away our home ground advantage.  It cost us the 4points and a key fwd injured.

GWS and Suns numbers are probably  BS.

Alot of their crowds are denoted TBC.

Correct. That is physical human attendance at matches therefore the Collingwood and Richmond figures need to be adjusted.

I wonder if current technology could provide some sort of DNA testing at the turnstiles?

and thats with crowds of 3k and 8k in alice springs and hobart.

we are massive

I believe these figures are only for our home games, so Hobart is not counted here.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

  • POSTGAME: Hawthorn

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
