GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon

Featured Replies

That quarter was insipid. Can’t be at your best every week, but these guys look like they don’t give a [censored] this week.

Petty the only player giving a toss that quarter

Outcoached. Outworked. Outpressured. Not many playing to structure or team first footy. A few have heard themselves called “premiership favourites” too much and believed it.

We'd be trailing by 10 goals if it wasn't for Petty.

Aside from that, we've been completely outplayed today.

I don't want to hear anyone say this was lost at the selection table, Brown wouldn't have changed anything.

Look if this was another team I wouldn't be as mad. But it's Essendon. It's horrible they'll be 4-1 sitting above us on the ladder

Who cares, really. It's round 5. You honestly think this Essendon style could hold up in finals? They're playing a team who's travelled three times in 5 rounds and on a 6 day break.

How can a champion team let themselves down like this?

😡😡

Honestly do we just not want to man up there fowards

Completely outnumbered. No chance. Midfield are not working hard enough, apart from Langdon.

Things could have been worse. This could have been at the G. Take the loss and move on.

Clearly we are a bit off, given the WA travel and shorter break than Essendon, gives them an edge. Throw in the injuries to Lever has thrown us off balance.

Nothing's worse than having ya pants pulled down by essendon.

I hope when they review this they show how easily may was pushed off the ball by Langford, I hope they show our backline not manning up & our pathetic field kicking

Max wouldn't make much of a difference with this type of disorganised trash.

Up the wings, bomb it long. Not hungry enough.

Dead set old school Dees

Bombers have played extremely well, working hard to clog up our forward line and then pushing hard the other way when they win possession. We haven't gone with them and made it easy with the slow ball movement. It happens, let's see the response.

they beat us the same as always they run and carry and get the overlap going as we do not cover the opposition well. We are good if we can snag an intercept mark and then rebound but this is the same style of play that collingwood, brisbane and others have used against us. we do not chase, we do not cover our opponents. very disappointing effort by most of the team

Petty Langdon  Hunter 😊and nil

Bombers up 5 goals  now flood back  !! Smart

Scott clearly out coaching Goodwin

They through in the towel. Sad.

Great post. So many [censored] takes in here. 2019 bad? GTFO.

If we don’t get 2 quick ones then time to rest our guns and give the 2nd tier mids a full work out

They’re playing a team that is in line for a premiership. This level of performance and attitude is inexcusable.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
