Just now, whatwhat say what said:

gc17 remain the most pathetic franchise in football

almost the worst in world sport; up there with the sacremento kings or minnesota timberwolves in the nba

Worse than the Cleveland Browns

Game over. Well done Gold Coast you literal waste of time money and talent.

Chol is gassed and having zero influence for GC

He's not a very good player.

GCS remind me of the Washington Generals

I still maintain the best thing about Gold Coast is Jupiters

You bring Sexton on with fresh legs and leave him in the forward pocket where the ball isn't getting to. Put him around the footy Dew you nuffie!

We sure lucked out with the Swans blocking him from coming to the Demons.

Gold Coast don’t want to win and nobody even cares.
Just loose, lazy, unfit. They have had 100 pre seasons and they can’t even run a game out.
Just genuinely embarrassing.

The players probably think that too

Its hard to see Freo winning many if any games once they come up against the better teams.

Look at their fixture the next 12 or so games. I would be surprised if they win more than 5.

More like the highway out of it.

Fremantle players celebrating like we did in our 2 wins a season days. Embarrassing.

They have no heart. Played the last quarter like they were 6 goals down. Lazy timid spectators.

And what a shockingly umpired game. How many soft frees given and real frees not given.

Ok, so that was disappointing. Let’s look at the positive though and work out who would be good to pinch from Gold Coast.

Yeh he was right up there in that 2019 draft with Kozzy, LJ etc.  Actually early on im pretty sure he was ranked higher

He went #2.  I'd pick Kozzie above him, but he'd definitely be top 5 in a retrospective draft

Rhetorical question ... How many times did the Suns bomb the ball forward and the Freo defenders simply marked those kicks ?

I think we just watched the battle for...

Rhetorical answer: the same number of times that a Sun had the ball after a mark or free and his teammates stood around watching rather than running to give him an option.

Tigers v Swans ... who do we want to win?

Possibly Tigers because I suspect they won't be much of a threat this year?

None of their defenders that's for sure.

The AFL royally screwed up the set up of that club. Unprofessional/drug/party culture to start with which by all accounts took a decade to undo. If you were one of those players to which AFL is just a career and you don’t feel a burning passion to succeed like others do, GC is your club.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
