The Pamela Anderson case was a VHS tape stolen by someone from her garage. Very different circumstances. The court case was about copyright.

Inferred consent is a grey area. I would think anyone posting on the internet through a social media site believing it will never get out are kidding themselves, regardless of timelines. Particularly if you are ‘famous’. Stupidity IMO.

The content is concerning and Eddie and others are turning this argument sideways as a crisis management strategy. Feeding drugs to a women for sexual pleasure is scary IMO

No disagreement on the content, or what Eddie is trying to do.

Where did it state 8 years ? Interested because I’ve read that there was some old stuff a few years ago but some of this is relatively new ..

It has been reported as being 8 years old from his time at Brisbane.

Tell you what,I'm just hugely comforted by the fact that spot betting and sports betting in general is so carefully restrained in the AFL space, otherwise the volume of kompromat floating around about players would be extremely troubling and a smouldering threat to the integrity of the game.

Imagine the great same-game-multi you could get going, each part on a seemingly plausible event, if it wasn't for the super-careful way gambling is being handled.

Not taking Collingwood's side with this, but it does appear a little more than coincidental that two sides, who, on appearances, would seem to be better than Brisbane, both have sustained  damaging personal information released about them with intent to do damage.

Maybe this has something to do with what is still being investigated  up their end......

News reports the incident was from 2018.

The AFL say nothing to see here, not even a fine. Is there a stench of double standards here?

Outcome is Crisp has to apologize and do an education program. I’m sure that will stop him being a druggie sex pest though eh 🤣

Pathetic

Dam I just wanted him to get suspended for at least 1 game so his streak ended. Oh well hoping he does an injury instead

So nothing? How about a club imposed suspension?

Hard when that club seems to value that kind of behaviour.

Oh FFS, the video was from literally 5 years ago and given his extraordinary run of not missing a game in more than 5 seasons this is a reasonable indication that he id disciplined with his training and preparation are to a high standard. While I get there are exceptions where players can train and perform to an elite level with a drug problem, e.g. Ben Cousins, players with problems with drug addiction and partying too much tend to suffer recurring soft tissue injuries. Also in the 5 years since the video he has a partner and started a family of his own.

Its also a bit of a joke that the club has sent him on social media education for something that happened 5 years ago.

I don't mean to harp on about the way the AFL media report this sort of stuff but of you consider the incidents re Ross Lyon at Fremantle and also those involving executives and subordinates at AFL house, on one hand the player is plastered all over the papers over something that happened over 5 years ago while the senior staff and executives are afforded privacy.

well he can't be accused of bringing the club into disrepute

it would be impossible to bring the filth into any more disrepute than they currently have

Acknowledged, Crisp's so called incident was years ago, but it still amazes me why any AFL player  would subject themselves to any social media.  The only result can only end in tears.

Harp away...

The selective pile-ons are without logic... Including here on DL

The Perpetually Outraged on Behalf of Others (POBOs) need a hobbie target every so often.

De Goey going OK averaging 24 touches and 1+ goals this season...

What are you talking about, both AFL executives were sacked and the papers plastered it all over the front and back pages. Lost their jobs for having workplace affairs.

Never too late to learn a thing or two Chook. It maybe an experience that could be beneficial. The 5 year argument insinuates his values have changed. Subjective at best.

should have been rubbed out for games just for being so incredibly stupid to post that muck on the web

History has a tendency to repeat itself and this is bigger than that footy. A generalised comment not directed at Crisp.

Re Simon Lethlean, the Herald Sun reported that the AFL made enquiries internally re the affair 18 weeks before he resigned. It took them 18 weeks to determine that Simon's role was untenable and then provided him with the option to resign for having an affair with a junior staff member.

My issues isn't with the affair itself but that it involved a senior executive having an affair with a more junior staff member. This is a very serious issue and much more serious than Jack Crisps conduct. The AFL knew it was going on for at least 18 weeks before they forced his resignation and it doesn't take alot of imagination to conclude that the AFL acted on Simon's conduct only when it became apparent that it would become public and they had no other course of action. If the more junior participant in the affair was not a willing participant, which I'm not suggesting in this case, there is every likelihood that the AFL would offer a settlement and require the victim to sign a confidentiality agreement.

Re Ross Lyon this is what was reported at the time.

https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/report-ross-lyons-alleged-harassment-remark-revealed/news-story/c82158ff776a960a50856d2f6bbc2c95

As a society we have a massive issue with this sort of conduct and a 23 year old behaving like an [censored] gets alot more airtime than the much more serious problem of senior managers and executives conducting themselves in this sort of manner, while being protected by their organisations for their conduct.

Re these sort of settlements I have a friend who has experienced sexual harrassment from a company director which led to probably the most traumatic 12 months of her life. She had to leave the job that she loved and the director is still at the company and his conduct has not been made public.

  • PREVIEW: Sydney

The two teams competing at the MCG on Sunday afternoon have each traversed a long and arduous path since their previous encounter on a sweltering March evening in Sydney a season and a half ago. Both experienced periods of success at various times last year. The Demons ran out of steam in midseason while the Swans went on to narrowly miss the ultimate prize in the sport. Now, they find themselves outside of finals contention as the season approaches the halfway mark. The winner this week will remain in contact with the leading pack, while the loser may well find itself on a precipice, staring into the abyss. The current season has presented numerous challenges for most clubs, particularly those positioned in the middle tier. The Essendon experience in suffering a significant 91-point loss to the Bulldogs, just one week after defeating the Swans, may not be typical, but it illustrates the unpredictability of outcomes under the league’s present set up.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
