The tickets are in your phone for scanning. Yes Many like the paper trail but really it's old hat!!

Yes they in my phone, that is the point. I don't like that. Paper was fail safe.

You saw what it said when I did a screenshot, dunno what to tell ya just going by my experience.

Did it actually screenshot the ticket though? That message came up for me last year too but scanning in with the screenshot worked a treat. It helped a lot because I usually by between 6-10 tickets for my family and take screenshots which I send them through messenger so they can get in and never had an issue. Just make sure the brightness is up on your screen when scanning in otherwise it may not pick it up.

I'll give it a go tonight

Starting this thread so we can discuss when our fanbase inevitably gets slammed for not having the same crowds as Collingwood or Richmond. (Yes Caro, Im looking at you, you old bat).

Personally thought that 48K against the dogs was very good considering they just never show up at G.

Wonder how many Dees fans will be at the F1 who would otherwise be at the footy on Sunday? I reckon we will be lucky to get over 35K now.

Not sure the purpose of thread?

Repeat of last year's negativity around our fans attendance?

An invitation for 'Caro bashing', perhaps?   (Btw the pejorative name is not appropriate!).

We have a thread to exchange information on ticket/ticket sales.  Isn't that enough.😟

If we can’t get at least 40k this Sunday, against a fellow top 4 aspirant, our club has a serious issue with attracting supporters. Why that is, I have no idea.  We need to start showing up to games. It’s Sunday, it’s 3:20pm. The complaints last year were around night fixtures and train services etc. that doesn’t fly this weekend

Considering Bigfooty has a thread to discuss crowds that ends up with 150+ pages every year, there are people that like thinking about that sort of thing. Its fascinating to see how many people choose to go to football week in, week out. Certainly cleaner than having a new chat each week for tickets for Sydney game, tickets for Anzac Eve, tickets for KB.

It might seem pointless to you, but other people may like to discuss why only 30K turn up against the Swans, or why we might get 75K for Anzac Eve.

Also believe we have a right to bemoan our reserved seat members not showing up to games, or all the excuses people come up with every game.

if you like what Caro says about our club then that's fine, but when she always gets her facts wrong about us, I have no respect for her and think she should be called out..

Absolutely agree that Melbourne fans prefer day games to night games. F1 might take away over 5K from the attendance though.

Is this the 'lay off us we're turning up' thread or the 'come on you lazy so and so's get your butt to the games this is embarrassing' thread?

To be determined but I have a bad feeling it will be the second one more so than the first. Think the Round 7 game against North will be a good indiication of how many of us are turning up to games. Anzac Eve we will be outnumbered anyways.

i always like the member: crowd number ratio

so melbourne and footscray combined have, say, 100k members: 50k attendance

aints and footscray have about 100k combined members: 33k attendance

ultimately afl doesn't give two hoots about crowd numbers during the regular season; it's all about the broadcast viewership

We don't have a new chat each week about tickets.  There is a ticket thread.  And legit questions about ticketing has nothing to do with crowd size.

Bemoaning reserved seat members not going to games is an invitation to bash demon fans who deserve better than being maligned by their own.  And why pick on reserved seat members.

If you want Caro bashing and demon fan bashing just re-post last year's thread.

If you weren't a regular poster and one who provides excellent info I would suggest the op is an attempt to troll ie a 'dog whistle' to all who want to winge about Caro, AFL, Dees fans etc.  Give it a rest.

I gotta ask one thing about the reserved seat members because we were in the gun a lot on here last year. What is an appropriate number of games for a reserved seat member to attend each season?

I go every home game but if I ever have to miss one for good reason am I going to be thrown into the worthless reserved seat member category? The guy I usually go with had a baby last year and now gets to about 1 in 3 home games after having attended regularly for 5 years, is he scum?

I will be at the grand prix. Important client lined it up so I can't get out of it. Actually started planning to get along to the game with my kids and their Uncle and cousins before I realised the dates clashed. Can't be helped unfortunately.

I prefer the glass half full analysis. I support people who pay money for reserved seats and don't attend. At least they've paid up. Some may do so knowing full well that they won't be able to attend all or even any matches, but willingly part with the money to the benefit of the club.

I said I hope it doesn't, if you don't like it you don't have to post here. But if we get 45K on Sunday I hope you make a comment on how good it was to see the MCG full of Dees fans. Or if there's 25K you might get where I'm coming from.

I would argue that we only sold out our reserved seat areas last year because a whole bunch of people bought them just to get a grand final ticket. Those areas were empty every week. M15 and M16 are particularly sparce imo and I don't know what is going on with M53 this year but it doesn't go on sale for general public and isn't part of the M50-M52 reserved seat areas and was empty last week. Noted that M13, M14 were packed against the dogs so hopefully the turnout is better this year.

I believe that people who just buy a reserved seat for a GFG are the worst because they don't go to games but then take a grand final ticket that someone who attends every game doesn't get.

Think you may have missed my point. I just want to discuss our crowds with people rather than go on Bigfooty and watch people bash us all day :)

I disagree, legit questions about ticketing tend to be impacted by expected crowds and what bays are put up as reserved seats and. Example will be Anzac Eve when people ask if there will be level 1 GA but the reality will be a crowd of 70K+ means that all of level 1 will be reserved and taken by Richmond supporters and our GA members will be on level 4. But I do get where you are coming from.

We got 51,000 to this corresponding 3:20 game in late 2018 so there’s precedence and potential for an excellent crowd on what’s expected to be a 20 degree sunny afternoon.

If we can beat the 1986 Anzac Day crowd of 40,000 between these two sides, then I think the club will be happy.

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
