This Freo Saint's game is some real bad team on bad team action.

I'll have a lot of fun death-riding Fremantle this year.

This Saints Freo game is not even worthy of a Sunday twilight time slot. Tuesday matinee at best.

saints trying hard but ball use and foot skills very poor.

And Freo not much better. this games a hard watch.

Hard to find a better snapshot of knuckleheads and halfwits.

Today's games have been a festival of dross. Can't imagine what it would be like having to watch this stuff week after week.

I can - we lived it for years.

You must have a really good memory Chook. I can barely remember anything prior to 2021.

So Essenscum are on top of the ladder. Vomit.

Bombers have Suns Saints and Giants to come. If round 5 Demons - Dons is a top of the table clash and we completely derail their season in the space of a couple of hours, it'll be worth it.

Temple of Doom scene where the guy has his heart pulled out and shown to him before he is lowered screaming into the lava.

Gees you’d be furious if you gave up so much draft capital for Tim Kelly. Struggle to be in the top 120 players in the comp.

Two match balls got nicked by some enterprising young fans at the Hawks Bombers game.  Ch7 chose to show it all to the world so every chance this will now be a thing.

This match is cringe worthy. No pressure, heaps of mistakes and Jacko non existent.

Saints have finally got it right at the draft. picked up two ripping young forwards

Freo defn not top 4 material or top 8 by todays showing. Looks like we may get that too 10 pick for Jacko after all.

They screwed us. They deserve that karma.

Also why is Peter Bell on the bench? Is he also coaching now? 🫠

Definite micro-manager personality so no surprise.

So much jogging in this game from both sides, and especially from Jackson. He just doesn't want it enough IMO. His best patch in the grand final at the end of the 3rd quarter should be the intensity he should be aiming for every game.

The "New Coach Bounce" is a thing, apparently.  All of GWS, North Melbourne, Essendon and (hopefully) St Kilda with a win in round one under a new coach.

Fantastic win by the Saints considering the outs they have.

Jackson had no idea how incredibly lucky he was to have absolutely no pressure playing under Gawn.
Good luck playing with zero intensity at Freo after they spent so much on you.

There was a fair bit of that as last year progressed. May rue his decision to leave. Was playing with the best ruckman and two of the best midfielders of the last decade (at least)

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
