Carlton v Richmond is so hard to pick

i have changed my tip 3 times already

Both sides have big deficiencies

Does it matter.. the winner will be showing premiership form

The loser..a strong showing but coach X needs to address............

Not sure why putting Round 1 AFL fixture into Google produced GWS playing both South Australian teams.

Noticed that too, it's a worry because I rely on google for the fixture a lot.

I think Carlton win by 24+, can't understand the hype about the Tigers.

I'm often wrong so get on Toiges tonight and for Top 4.

The hype is because of Taranto and Hopper, time will tell if it’s warranted. I personally don’t think so and in many ways this season is their last roll of the dice for Martin, Cotchin & Riewoldt. I’ve tipped the tigers on the back of they know how to win and Carlton is overrated and Walsh isn’t playing. I have tigers playing finals but that’s about it.

Bears

AFL assistance package.  Obviously one of the SA teams will not turn up, will forfeit the game and GWS will be gifted 4 points.

Agree @Dee Zephyr. Will be lucky to make the 8. Will quite possibly fall off the cliff.

I usually wait for the AFL to post their nice graphic of the round's matches on Social Media but I think I will open this thread earlier in the week as a place for the discussion of the upcoming non-Demons matches. Currently there really isn't the place on here for that type of discussion so we'll see how it goes.

So many pundits are still very bullish on the Tigers and I just don't understand it.

These same pundits will be saying the Blues are strong Premiership contenders when the Blues have a big win tonight.  God help us.

Carlton should win easily. The Tigers are old and the Blues forwards are the best in the comp

I predict the talking points to be West Coast winning well and Port winning.  I reckon Port will do well this year and beat the Lions first up.  They have some new recruits and it would be typical of Ken to pull a great season out of his backside when he on the chopping block

Freo could end up with a North implosion style 2016 season.

Their draw as a possible finals contender is astonishingly soft. Their first 5 are all gimmies not incl Bulldogs in R6 Perth.

Only 4 tough games by R16. They have a tough July early August thats it.

If theyre not top 4 by R16 theyre junk.

They could be on top by R16 then crash  to 6- 8 by R23.

Gil McLacklan handed them a finals berth on a silver platter. Hes a living train wreck that guy. Worst ever commissioner.

The AFL finally have their opening round blockbuster between Carlton and Richmond.

Can someone tell me when they became a thing for the opening round.

Of course most games have been a snorefest but even I will watch this one until half time

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
