Wow, surprised how much supporters overrate Harmes. He’s barely had 1 good season.
2018 he looked good in the back half of the season but beyond that he has been very average.

Agreed, its the first round compensation for Gresham that I'm questioning. He belongs in the 3rd round with Harmes. Maybe, just maybe we accepted unders for Harmes.

Yep not saying Harmes is much chop, just saying Gresham isn't much better and they got a first-rounder for him.

Compensation herbs and spices is a joke.

End of First. Which is 2nd really, which I think is fair.

Over time I’ve rated Gresham’s excellent agility. It hasn’t always translated to success but he’s been in poor systems.

Jeez. A future 3rd round pick for Harmes is cheap. I know he was depth but still........

Think you are over rating Harmes as a player.

See above. Not saying he was by any means a world beater, just that the difference in quality of he and Gresham is not an end of first round versus a future third rounder.

Anyway. It's done now so let's see what Lamby etc. can achieve.

I'm certainly in the camp of getting 2-3 good young players rather than trying to land pick 1.

Sound thinking. As the old adage suggests “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket!” Then again ‘you can’t make an omelette without cracking eggs.’

Club did everything they possibly could to try and get Tom Lynch this trade period and Richmond wouldn’t bite.

Some might be overrating Harmes, but some are equally overrating Gresham, as is the compo pick for him. Gresham has not put together a consistent season as an AFL footballer.

It's funny, we are supposedly the easy club to deal with and have a good reputation in trades.

We clear an AA and dual B & F Ruckman and a Premiership mid quickly and cheaply and yet offer good picks on fringe players and are still trying to get the deals done, after a week of the trade period.

And Hawkins?

Would have been interesting conversations between the Melbourne recruiting team and the Richmond team.

Yze/Tiges would have been mad to let this happen

Delusional.

We all know this will get done late for the pick offered.

I’m surprised we didnt offer the F3 we got for Harmes. They can go and get stuffed. F2 is too high IMO.

They are upset because they want Petty and possibly because we beat them to 11.

They will drag it out, Dodoro and now Mackie style.

Wow. Surely, Adelaide are burning their reputation within the industry with this sort of nonsense.

Something in the water in Adelaide......

we should seriously just block their calls now and move on.

Wouldn’t think McAdam’s Manager would be happy. In the memory bank, if another player is deciding between Crows and another club.

Yep, totally.

Adelaide are deluded. He’s OOC and can easily walk to us in the main draft or PSD. Other clubs aren’t going to waste their time on a 28 year old role player who doesn’t want to play there. If it was Rachele then Rankine then yes but McAdam? What dorks .

Well... he can’t easily walk to us in the PSD. Adelaide were expecting and happy to re-contract McAdam, and they have an earlier pick than us in the PSD. They could hold firm.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
