Radio reports Goody has said no Fritsch, Viney or Salem this week

Looks like they're down at Casey this morning based on an MFC Facebook post

In good news Salem and Fritsch completed the whole session.  They both moved and trained very well.

Viney off to the side with mainly agility and lap running at a good pace.

It was a light craft session.

Mids/rucks doing centre bounce stoppage work.

Inside 50 delivery was extensively practised with defenders v forwards.  There's an emphasis on either hitting up one of multiple leading targets OR taking a longer option with a deeper kick where the forward has got themself in good position behind the defender.

There was some 3/4 ground match simulation that wasn't too intense or too long.

I didn't notice Woewodin, but I might have missed him.

May did not train.

I didn’t notice any smiles on the training gallery on 27th March did anyone get to Gosh’s on Monday or intend attending todays session so we know who is in rehab. This weeks list came as a bit of a surprise as it appears Will Verral and to a lesser degree Christian Salem won’t see to much action this year.!!

Didn't get to Gosch's Monday or today.

I heard on some type of media that they trained on Tuesday and intend to have the main training Thursday. Whether it is at Casey or Gosch's anyone's guess.

Nothing on the website about open trainings.

Looks like an in club easter party for players, down at Gosch's.

It may start at 12. Easter eggs all over half the paddock, with plenty of the players and staff's,  family around.

A light session makes sense, I think they caught 'the red eye' back from WA on Sunday night.

Not TMac. He was interviewed after the game and asked if he was catching the red eye said no will be staying the night and getting a good night's sleep before leaving the next day 🤣

Four players at the Easter party.

Lever, walking around without any limp or restrictions.

BBB and Viney, and then Melksham, whose kid led the rest to those chocky's. Sign him up, has competitiveness written all over him. A kid, with number 5 on his back came a close second.

Good atmosphere, 30 kids, some admin, trainers, partners, and a table of nibbles.

The players left fairly quickly, probably to get into the days footy preparation and routine.

Very sensible.

Noticed the media, who were at the Dee's training today, carried stories about us tonight.

They won't get over to Casey at the main training (too far to travel), and will cover other clubs.

The sports news stories about us later in the week, have used some stock video this season. A good chance they will use today's footage when/if presenting a story about us, later.

Means we have less outside scrutiny, keep 'em (and us) guessing

If demonlander's hear of training sessions, could you please post about it.

I know today was about the club celebrating those with 10+ years of continual membership, but!

School holidays and stuff, others wouldn't have interfered.

Given how many attended today, maybe >200, and nothing about it on this social network site, I am disappointed.

Did the email suggest you shouldn't inform others, or do those with the email feel special?  Good to develop division amongst the supporters.

Covid interfered with my sequence of membership (trapped outside of Oz). I have supported the club since I was 12, making 50 years of loyal support (though not always a member). I am sure there are plenty on here who feel the same way.

Why not be informative?

Does anyone have an answer to why you didn't nform this site and myself about the training today?

At the moment, I feel taken for granted. I need support, otherwise I will not post and you can get reports from another.

I turned up today with guess work and uncertainty. That could have been totally different, a little heads up would be appreciated.

I got an email from the club inviting me. Thank you for registering for our 10+ year members exclusive training viewing.

Its a shame you missed out 'kev'.

We love your work and that you tirelessly turn up at Gosch's just in case there is a session.  I suspect most of DL's feel the same

Your training reports are one of my favourite parts of DL.

Thank you.

First I heard about an invite to training for long term members was just now. And I have 25 plus,   Maybe it was selective !

The email came on April 6 along with other MFC emails.

I missed it at first as Inbox was inundated with various other emails.

My gut feel is it was for 10+ years 'consecutive" members only.

If so that would be pretty sad i reckon

I have at least 35+ years of memberships (plus all the other side gigs like sponsoring a win / raffles / merch etc) in total so far outside of barracking time of 50+

I'd have at least 6 to 8 years of DA memberships now as well (no mention of this day in their emails either).

No doubt others would have even more than that (non-consecutive).

Hope this doesn't stop you from attending and reporting Kevie.

Your training reports are hugely appreciate from interstate supports such as myself.

  • NON-MFC: Round 12

Round 12 kicks off with the Brisbane hosting Essendon at the Gabba as the Lions aim to solidify their top-two position against an injury-hit Bombers side seeking to maintain momentum after a win over Richmond. On Friday night it's a blockbuster at the G as the Magpies look to extend their top of the table winning streak while the Hawks strive to bounce back from a couple of recent defeats and stay in contention for the Top 4. On Saturday the Suns, buoyed by 3 wins on the trot, face the Dockers in a clash crucial for both teams' aspirations this season. The Suns want to solidify their Top 4 standing whilst the Dockers will be desperate to break into the 8.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
