Can’t wait to hear Sarah Jones ask Will Ashcroft if he’s excited to be joining his father’s old club.

And Lions Expert Jonathan Boofhead on hand to give his thoughts?

For those who haven't been following, though we have 4 picks listed, we only have two senior list spots available since we gave Hibberd and Melksham another year. This means we will only be using two picks in this draft.

Lots of media discussion around us trying to trade our future first round picks, and potentially pick 13 too, to get into the top 5 in this draft tonight. Nothing has come of it yet, and I doubt it will, but the clubs been aggressive in trying to get high end talent in. Will be interesting to see how it unfolds!

I cannot believe that pick 4 and 22 are worth 3 first round picks to pick 2 untried players with potential?

Conversation about the first day of the 2022 AFL National Draft. Who will be No 1? Who will the Demons select? Will draft picks change hands and what impact would any such trades have on our selections?D3B2FE79-B75E-4A10-AD9F-DEF77AB84049.jpeg

Well, it should get interesting when they reach Pick 63 because both Hawthorn and Richmond are shown above as holders of this coveted selection.

Expect feathers to fly!

Today I’m relaxed.  Years ago this was our bright light and our search for a glimmer of hope.  But we have our premiership 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆and we have confidence in JT and team to make the right moves.

🤣🤣Love it.  Maybe given all the sudoku numbers flying around after trade and pick swaps, it got too confusing.

If we get 4 and 22 what will we do with 37? Trade it on? It might be offered as well to seal the deal.

Don't think Essendon can take it, as they originally owned 37 - traded to us for Weid

Would you mind doing me a favour with the article please, Andy.

For those that can read it it's an article written around these figures. Top ten statistically is far more valuable than the next tier.

What pick was Bowey again? 17? 😁

21. That was an odd draft though as there were so many academy and father son picks that the first round lasted until pick 26!

Yes maybe they should then compare 11-20 with 21-30 etc. … I think the outcomes are obviously better for lower picks.

37 was originally the Swans pick but given to the Bombers in the Francis trade.

Interestingly the trades between Swans, Bombers and us were all done separately, I.e. not part of a 1 x 3-way transaction. Not sure if that means we can trade it back to them or not though.

Can't wait to hear Nat Edwards (?) Tuomey and Shifter drone on and on and on, long after the next pick is in.

Can't wait to see each club's recruiters looking bored/awkward when the camera sits on them long after they've submitted their pick. We then get to listen to the above for 5 more minutes while the whiz bang technology catches up. Fair dinkum - write the player's name on a piece of paper, wrap it around a rock and chuck it at the panel. It would be quicker and at least entertaining!

I've looked at the Foxtel time slot - TWO HOURS for the first round of the draft!

Kill me now

They included it. I couldn't fit it in one pic.  As expected.

And it will go every bit as long, Fox and the AFL will see to that

If headings are correct, you are comparing 10 higher picks to 5 lower picks. If that's the case there not a big discrepancy at all. Different story if it should read  PICKS 21-30

So hope we trade with Essendon, and you only need to watch up until pick 5.

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season.
