I think he would be a good fit for us. Chocco is great at developing players and the attitude of our boys is incredibly professional, whereas a lot of the bulldogs players seem to be about that party lifestyle.

If he would only cost us a late 3rd or late 4th round pick then why the heck not.

Exactly.  Beveridge's response to a challenge is to have whinge.

This must be the KPF GNF was talking about

Who's GNF ?

Don't quite understand the logic in trading Weid only to bring the Shach Attack in, but at the end of the day who really cares about either

Short memory @layzie. A Demonland poster set DL off with the Naughton rumour. It doesn't take much to set DL off.

Isnt it moneyball? the coaches have tried to get Weed over the line and feel they have had a good shot. Worth trying with someone else who currently is about the same but may improve under their coaching. Might be good for both players.

Grand New Flag.

I love his informed posts.

Nice try, GNF…

Youre Good Robert Deniro GIF

What’s with all the negativity? Mitch Brown’s stats look very unremarkable on paper but he did his job for us for three seasons. Weid had his moments at times too. We need someone to replace them for those same moments throughout a long season. Schache is about that quality of player. Honestly I’d rather just keep Weid but if he’s out, Schache makes perfect sense.

Cam Pederson circa 2018 would be perfect right about now.

I'd wager Josh is a slight upgrade on Weid but concede it is pretty like for like.

Sorry typo. I meant only rando 'callers' could set off DL like this. As well as everything else. My bad!

Cam Pedersen the ultimate man for a crisis situation.

[censored] i loved that man.

Worth his weight in gold.

I don’t know who this team is that the Bulldogs beat up on, but Schache looks like he has bulked up, significantly. Takes some nice overhead marks. If it’s Weid out, this isn’t a bad replacement. Maybe the penny will drop for him at a new club. Dogs are stocked for forwards. They don’t need him.

Having played with Schache as a teenager, I thought this bloke was going to be phenomenal when he made the AFL, obviously that hasn’t panned out the way anyone would’ve liked it to.

But I still see his talent and potential for growth as a professional, so I don’t think it’s worth poo pooing the idea of bringing him in. After all, it’s a depth acquisition for a future third or fourth most likely so If he comes in and performs better than a Mitch Brown type - that’s a win to me. Heck even if he comes in purely to keep all of TMac, BBB & JVR on their toes, good.

It’s a low risk move with a chance of giving him some success after being a highly touted prospect

Not much of an attack either, more a Shach water pistol.

Some excellent memes here with the Shac/Weed comparisons. Good for a late night chuckle.

I feel there is no improvement/decline here however we’ll likely get Shache as a delisted free agent where as Weed nets us a third rounder.

That may assist us somewhere in the grand scheme of things

Clearly we are being Schache in so Petty can play forward

Petty for the Coleman!!

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
