Rosman concussion? Looked like the bump didn’t get him high

Didn't appear that way but came off with a blood nose. Must have had some high contact that wasnt obvious on the coverage.

I’d be comfortable with Tomlinson back in. Turner could be one pre season away from exploding as well. He’s looked great all year at VFL.

Geez that forward line does sound refreshing!

I'd had Turner ahead of Tomlinson. Most of the damaging AFL key forwards are either mobile (Curnow, Cameron, Naughton, Hipwood, Daniher, Riewoldt, McKay) or beasts {Lynch, Hawkins). Tomlinson is a straight ahead player with poor agility. I don't see him as an AFL defender any more.

its a joke we played Hunt ahead of Bowey

Hunt earnt his spot. Rivers and Salem were poor in both finals.

Looked a medial for Tom.

I think we simply can't plan around TMAC being available next year. If we can't find a KPF, then we find another mobile KPD and play Petty forward.

Tommy trots back on.

I see what you’re saying. But I think you’re writing Tomlinson off too soon. It’s his first year back from an ACL.

He’s bounced back on to the ground.

I’d say ideally McDonald and JVR could be good for 22 between them if not both of them.

Definitely would love a Brown/Jackson replacement in addition to the 2 bigs.

Wakefield has been awesome. So exciting. Has a bit of Fritta about him.

Mitch Brown is an amazing VFL player. I think we should delist him but Casey should sign him up. He looks like he can play 10 more years at this level.

It is so frustrating watching Weiderman clunk these marks.

A shame he couldn't take his opportunity in the seniors.

A concussed nose

Weids been huge today and capping off his afternoon with two contested grabs and a goal. Ruck/forward will be his way back into the team going forward .

Just means you're not developing a forward.

He's not a tall so he's not much good for training small forwards.

Winning is nice but it's not really the main reason why we have a VFL team

And as some pointed out last week the VFL salary cap is so low he could make more money playing in the suburban league

I expect JVR will play much less VFL next year and the prospect of Weideman is well, not the best.
There is plenty of space to develop another tall both forward and in the ruck.

A brilliant performance. The tackling and hardness at the ball a real stand out.
Casey doing us proud after last night’s very disappointing effort.

Weird has shown plenty the last couple of games as a ruck forward.

Be interested to see him played in that role for the pre season and into next. Just might be his future role at AFL level.

Couldn’t play him, Tmac and Brown in the same forward line but you could play him Tmac and JVR who has a lot more mobility and much better below his knees

The ruckwork of T Mac and JVR when up forward has me thinking that Max plays 85% game time as a pure ruckman, and T Mac and JVR could share the other 15%. Ditch the idea of playing Max up forward.

I've liked how Weid has developed as a ruckman, but he's not good enough as an AFL forward.

That’s kind of how I imagined last night panning out.

JVR is so cute. Spoke like a true first year player. Get him a girlfriend ASAP so he doesn’t contemplate doing a Jackson!

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
