Todd Viney has been appointed to the position of Football Manager at North Melbourne Football Club.

I presume this is very much at Clarkson's behest.

How's the sub-editor in you going AS?

Clarko gets his man. Boy the Roos are going to be set off field in the coaching department.

He replaced Daniel McPherson who they poached from us less than a year ago…

I hope Todd knows this is a 5+ year job he has signed himself up for.

I'd say he needed some convincing. Highly doubtful he'd give up the farm life for anything other than Clarko and a decent offer. All the best to them. Massive job ahead.

Was a great pick up by us to poach him from them! All the best Todd!

IF any of their better players do decide to leave he will put in a good word for us

Could work the other way too

I hope he is on Top $$

It won’t be easy

He'll be right.

He's done it all before with a team that was in similar position to a recent premiership team.

They played two seasons together with us including the 1997 wooden spoon season and 1996. We were quite ordinary then. They go back a long way including some rough times before success.

I'd rather see him at nth than Essendon.

Clarkson obviously views Viney very highly but I wonder how he'll go doing an office job & being away from the farm.

Will be interesting to see what happens

T Viney. Probably an underrated part of our success. Good on him. No greater compliment than Clarko going hard to get you.

thanks for everything Todd. Babysitting half the squad over the journey

Didn’t he lure Bernie Vince to us? Which kick started the whole thing?

Have a soft spot for Bernie Vince. Our first proper trade in yonks and won a B&F.

look QBD - as you know, Murdoch has sacked all the sub-editor so as he can record another billion-dollar profit.

so I missed a letter in "they"!

you give me goals off the boat (get it - I know it's meant to be boot) of Max and I will shut up!

I loved Brasso so much. Set us up for a tilt in 1987/88. Loved Swooper as well.

well QBD buy a copy of Ian Munro's MFC book: and send Swooper a copy - Swoop runs a pub down Geelong way?

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
