Salem for Bowey seems the only possible change given that Hunt had his best game in ages. Bit sorry for Jordon, who has been a regular starter but will probably miss out on  finals.

I think it’ll depend on our opponent. Bowey was pretty good with limited touches. Gave us some bounce, which I don’t think Salem has added this year. Salem’s kicking has been a bit iffy. That tackle Bowey laid on Zorko in the last was poetic.

I'd drop Sparrow in a heart beat yeah

Have a look at Sparrow's second quarter. He was kamikaze in his attack on the ball and the man. Crazy good.

When we play good footy it's hard to make a case for many changes. Salem is arguably my favourite player but even still it's a tough call to drop bowser for him

TMac getting back is wild. Not sure who would make way for him structurally because Milkshake has done very well. Tmac as a sub could work

TMac needs solid match practice before any consideration as to a Finals berth. He would need to be BOG in the VFL matches he plays to get any consideration. Minimal changes next game with Salem an IN: (if fully fit)

The other consideration is that if we play in Sydney, which is a possibility, on a smaller ground consideration will surely be given to smaller running type players.

Just a 'corky' according to Goody in his presser. Can't imagine he'll have any issue getting up in two weeks time.

Yep.  After the game Jacko was walking around with ice attached to the back of his leg, well below the knee...

I've been very critical of Salem but last week I thought he was great.  Clean hands and good direct passes.  Salem in for not sure who.  Anb is a real worry for me.  Been horribly out of form for weeks.  Can't gather without fumbling and can't handball without being caught.  Clearly he's not right with that power vomit we saw.  Works hard and at his best it very damaging but atm is way off.  Not sure what to do about it.  No way tmac will be back after such a long stint out.

Tough call.

Salem probably will come back in but I thought bowiecwas good.

Anb won't be dropped even if his form isn't great.  Samecwith Spargo.

Good to see bbb back in form.

And Trac playing his best again.

I am a confused with the first week of the finals. If the dees finish second, do they have the first week off?

Nope. If we finish 2nd, we play in the Qualifying Final against 3rd. Winner then goes directly through to the Preliminary Final and has a break, loser goes on to the Semi Final.

We can only finish 2nd or 3rd now, highly likely we play the Swans in the first QF (unless they unexpectedly get defeated by St Kilda, and one of Collingwood or Freo win) - just a question of where.

Why do you wanna take out our best kick, PF?

Surely if another tall comes in it's ANB who is OTW to KC (IMO)

Some tough markers here. I thought ANB played a highly disciplined game trying to keep Rich out of the play. He ran him around by doing his usual gut running which Rich couldn't keep up with and which he does to clear paths for players like Petracca, Pickett and Fritsch. It wasn't ANB's best game and he didn't prevent Rich from getting the ball all the time, but I thought he was still pretty good.

The only change I can foresee is Salem in for Bowey. The tougher question might be the following week: If Tom McDonald is ready, who would he come in for?

In:    Salem, Jordon

Out: Bowey, Spargo

Salem for Bowey is the obvious change.

I don't see how Spargo gets a gig on the wing ahead of Jordon, especially if it's at the MCG. Only 9 possessions, 1 contested possession and only 1 tackle. Largely unsighted once again.

ANB is still out of form, but at least I can acknowledge his gut running is important. Spargo has me mystified.

As if this thread isn't jumping the gun enough! 😛

Honestly though it would take a brave man to displace Melksham from the side right now.

Ok if he got 15-20 possesions then you might MIGHT justify it but just take a look at his last 4 weeks, Surely he goes out. Disappeared after quarter time!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
