Great to seeFreo win an away game like that for one of their greats and beat the most favoured team in the AFL  with [censored]'S.

Looks like we'll have to win both our remaining games to make Top 4.

Some might say you make your own luck in this game, but JUH kicking 5.0 against us, Collingwood kicking 15.4 last night , and barely any other results going our way recently have made things tricky.

With all that said, stumbling into September, finishing 5th and then making a GF is still very much possible. That's what the Dogs did last year.

Dogs played their grand final against us 3 weeks ago. Nothing left.

Reckon the Saints might win this

Cats getting 8 metre kicks paid as marks as usual at Taxpayers Stadium.

Started watching the game but to hell with it. No interest in watching this procession

I'm totally over this weekend of footy

You can see how Geelongs small and half forwards push up all the way to the contest  and then attack in a wave of half back. It’s the same way Pies sling shot.

This is their blueprint I think you need to stop their out number at the contest to have a crack at winning. It’s a modified version of the Richmond game plan.

The Saints v Cats qtr time score line is pretty much what ours should have been at qtr time. Credit to the Cats they know how to score when they have momentum.

I’m with you BDA. Why voluntarily watch Geelong dole out a hiding.
But there is ONE good thing about  this weekend of footy… Essendon lost. And that’s never a bad thing. 😁

I’m not so bloody minded

i don’t care who wins as long as we win

Um so if Sydney and Brisbane win by enough we slip to 5th correct?

Sounds like a multi worth having given the way things have gone for us this year ie relying on  others as we continue to merde Le bed

Same. But when we don’t win, watching the likes of Essendon win makes it more painful.

Wow losing to Dogs put our form into perspective. Dogs a putrid today. It amazing how some teams lift against us.

Yes, it happens to all existing premiers, to anyone on top at the time.  plus the hardest draw.

You’ll get a good price for Sydney to win by 34 and Brisbane to win by 86.

Robbie gray is finished. Always admired him as a player.

That only works out if the opposition do not score. ie for every goal North scores Swan need to score extra 8 points.

Hope Cats resting players backfires on them..

Amazing. Frees only 18 - 14 in favour of Footscray.  Bevo will have to complain to HQ.

We have stuffed up OUR OWN chances fot=r a top 2 finish with inept goal kicking more than anything else.

IF the coaching team don't review this and work hard on it in the offseason then it will continue unabated, and cost us again.

I've lost interest in the games on this evening. I've flicked over to the Commonwealth Games where we've already snagged another 3 gold

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
