gs77 4,616 Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 Bugger. :-( Hope she recovers well for 2023. 1 Quote
BDA 23,048 Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 A weights accident! Thats bizarre. Terrible news. She's a big loss. I love her dash and dare. Defensive stocks getting tested with Colvin and now Eliza going down. 1 Quote
Dees_In_October 3,515 Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 Sounds like a freak accident! Spinal is never a word you want to hear. I'm glad the surgery went well, though it sounds like a long road to recovery. She's had some bad luck already, with that nasty concussion early in the final last year. A super talented player and obviously a well-liked club person. 1 Quote
poita 3,945 Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 Yikes, that is not a great start to the pre season between Colvin & McNamara. We're going to need some of the players on the fringes to really step up this year. Quote
Meggs 598 Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 Such a shame. Eliza was having a great pre-season, working hard on everything including her speed. Wishing her a full recovery. 1 Quote
Little Goffy 14,972 Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 Spinal is such a scary word. Immediately shifts thoughts more to 'I hope she is okay' rather than 'how will this affect the team'. Of course, since we already have confirmation that she is 'okay' (relatively), well, this is going to suck for the team because she is a real spark. I mean, she is practically a human spark on field and socially! Get the feeling she'll hate not being able to bump around for a while. Fingers crossed for a speedy and clear recovery. 2 Quote
Meggs 598 Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 Clubs have until August 23 to sign injury replacement players should any listed athlete be moved to the inactive list before then. Eliza has been moved to the inactive list so we have an opportunity to sign another player. Quote
KingDingAling 3,758 Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 A season long injury that doesn’t involve an ACL. Rare as hens teeth in AFLW. Best of luck to the young lass. 1 Quote
dl4e 5,851 Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 Close to being the most talented player on the list. Great shame. Hope she comes back well for 2023. Quote
Deeoldfart 8,205 Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 Gutted for Eliza. Fortunately the prognosis for complete recovery is very positive. Quote

Great to see her coming back 2 Quote
BDA 23,048 Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 She's such a sweetheart. Pity she can't be part of it this year but what a player to get back for 2023 2 Quote
Dees_In_October 3,515 Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 Noticed that Eliza's been on the bench doing some kind of role a few games this season. She'll come back with something extra from that. It'd be a tough injury to deal with but looks like she's handled it all well and making strides now, with a grin, of course, no surprise there! Will be a massive in for 2023. 3 Quote
Dees_In_October 3,515 Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 Colvin joins the 'first post-injury run' club! Plenty of time before next season to tick all the boxes. Of course it wouldn't be a training video without there being something alarming to notice like... Duffy in a moonboot! 3 2 Quote
old55 23,864 Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 Wow I didn't realise how severe Eliza's injury and surgery were - spinal fusion: https://www.afl.com.au/aflw/video/1015978/i-had-to-learn-to-walk-again-elizas-road-back-from-spinal-injury Love her playing hope she has made a full recovery and can continue on with her great 2021 form. 7 Quote
rpfc 29,030 Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 And she was good on her return - had a few goal assists and her kicking inside50 is great. 1 Quote
