Well you could have been my friend WCW but you foolishly knocked back my invitation to  a classy night out at Hooters.

Don’t take this the wrong way BBO, but I’m not sure I’d wanna be seen with a nonagenarian in a 7XL red n blue Kaftan with matching red n blue crocs.
Soz.

Wait, do we have Hooters in Australia? I’ve only been in America. Their buffalo wings are delicious.

You’re likely the only bloke who goes to Hooters for the buffalo wings. 😉

Believe me Daise, the red and blue is not a problem. It’s HOW MUCH red n blue that’s the problem.

What do people make of Hunt and Tucker of Freo straight swap? Contract on the table for a while now with Hunt, but as of yet little interest to sign. Something in the woodworks... watch this space. A few clubs taking a nibble around Hunt. Whats he worth people?

For Hunt it's money and contract length

We obviously have made an offer and he's looking around.

Trade wise it's very late second to mid half third at best

I believe Hunt is a free agent and the Hawks have shown some interest.

He's a free agent.

I would guess we would get a 2nd round compo pick which would be around 45ish.

Doubt he leaves.

Good luck to them. All the 'On The Couch' footage of A Carlton zone in shambles with defenders caught in no mans land stopped this year. I wonder why.

Wonder how much a year out of the game at this age hurts him as well?

No! My boyfriend loves them too 🤣

Really disappointing to hear that we're set to recontract Jake Melksham. Michael Hibberd I can understand because he has been consistent with his form all year, but Melksham..?

He's last couple of games showed that he's just past it. Other then the Carlton game he didn't much in any other games and he was incredibly poor against Sydney.

Played as the 2nd tall forward forward so that alone has chewed games off Jacob Van Rooyen who once again justified on the weekend that he was physically ready to go.

He's going to be 32 next year and our focus needs to be on the next wave of talent coming through like Laurie, Chandler, Bedford and Moniz-Wakefield.

If we can get an extra list spot to bring in another developing tall forward/ruckman then surely that makes more sense then keeping washed up 32 year old forward flanker.

Melkshams done his job against Sydney, he completely just out McCartin and if not for a bad night in front of the sticks it would have been a very good game.

Melkshams number 1 job was to shut the out the oppositions best interceptor which he did incredibly well.

To me, sarcasm implies a level of unpleasantness or even nastiness.

I'd describe AF's post as satire.  Harmless, amusing and light-hearted.

It beggars belief that people have got their bloomers in a bunch over it.

And by “people” you mean me, right?

Well DS, you won’t have to tolerate people getting their bloomers in a bunch any longer.
WCW out.

His role on Mccartin has been a tad overblown. Went with him in forward 50 to an extent but seemed to changeover when he got outside 50. Reasonable defensive job but a lacklustre game I thought and needed a lot more from him.

Melksham is not the match winner in our team, he is a role player

How am I to know you were being sarcastic, when I’ve read so many similar (and similarly ridiculous) sentiments, ie. Melksy only gets a game coz he and Goody are mates. And these comments are actually serious! Why is yours any different???

If you've followed my posts in the past, you'll know that I think the idea of Melksham getting games (or in this case contracts) based on his alleged friendship with Goodwin, is a farcical and ridiculous proposition.

I agree. He just didn't kick his goals, otherwise he'd have been in our best players.

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
