Now there is a surprise dr and NC don't agree with me. I just need DD  and LN and my night will be complete.

Lots of discussion about fwds and ruck but this week defence is how we will win or lose. Petty May on Hawk and Cameron with Lever loose. Gus intercepting when he can get off his man

Assuming Gawn is back, I reckon he should sit in the hole. Cats can score very quickly

Personally, I think Hibbo would be a better man for Cameron. Cameron is more of a running mobile player than a contested mark; Hibbo would destroy him.

In: how to kick to forwards and better forward line movement

Out:High and long bombs into the hot spot.

I liked M Browns game. He was better playing a high HF type role. We need him to do that again and take one of Geelongs Tall defenders . I saw Kolodjashnij was out injured so they are down two of their key defensive stocks.

Hopefully the weather remains dry so we can use Gawn more effectively in the F50. I wonder if they swing Henry back into D50 and bring in Ratagolea or Rohan (assuming they are fit). I think May goes to Hawk and Petty to Cameron. Hibberd is probably better suited to Tyson Stengle who is in hot form.

Gawn <> Bedford

LJ <> Weideman (if fit)

Tommo (medi-sub)

Pickett won’t be dropped. He was better than Bedford anyway.

Thought he may have been given a week, no way I would suggest he be dropped, our most important small forward

As mentioned, Mitch Brown's game was far superior to Weideman's. Weed goes out for Gawn.

Bedford was disappointing but they might like his pace against Geelong.

Mitch Brown can't and won't play the forward/ruck role. If Jackson doesn't come back in then Weid will absolutely stay in and Mitch will make way.

Remember the original lineup before Jackson pulled out by any chance?

Just not gonna happen, 5 goals against a far inferior team means stuff all.

What no face palm !

Tomlinson must be medical sub for when the inevitable stray Hawkins elbow "accidentally" KOs May or Petty

If Jackson is out again then all options are open.

Weed's ruck work and lack of physicality in the air was dismal. He can't be given another game after that.

and they get suspended for intentionally running into his elbow.

Well we need a forward/ruck if Jackson doesn't play, how did you see Mitch Brown's ruckwork exactly?

Sorry mate, Weid stays if Jackson doesn't play.

It'd be less spooky if the fixture was fairer and the home ground advantage wasn't permanently Geelongs..

Mitch's ruckwork seemed far more competitive than Weeds. He at least nullified the contest.

Sorry, that's rubbish.

Weid had a higher hitout win percentage and at least had some to advantage whereas Brown had 0.

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
