Seriously good quarter by the Eagles, was fun to watch.

Agreed.

Certainly a different side to the one they put out in the first half of the season. Both in personnel ย and attitude.

ย

Our old mate Jesse Hogan playing with a dry ball in the pouring rain in Sydney.ย  Marking everything.

The home town umpiring helping Tigers. Eagles on a role and pathetic free kick against Nic Nat. Totally destroys momentum of game. Dusty off injured.

Triple M footy think Geelong will smash us. Ross Lyon doesn't rate us. We will beat them.

You can understand that, with Catsโ€™ form, played at Geelong, Cameron and Hawkins hot, against our undermanned out of form key forwards and uncertainty about our ruckmen.

Is there any chance we could pinch Mitch Georgiades from Port?

Ross Lyon is a brain dead failure and a creep. His opinion is worth less than dog**** ๐Ÿ’ฉ

Probably none.

They have Dixon, Marshall, Mitch and Finlayson. 4 marking forwards. We have Fritta, a mid size and then BBB and Weid available.ย

Port play unaccountable footy. Zero two way running in this quarter

no idea how Hinkley still has a job after so many chokes in important games

This was their last chance

Mitch Georgiatis with Mark of the Year

Freo would have choked big time if they cant hang on from here.

Robbie Gray. Most dependable set shot under pressure. Misses

Wowโ€ฆ blown it with regulation shotsย

Port choked this one at the death.

ย

Dixon with a cracking check side goal

Serong with another GOTY contender

Freo looked nervous. I doubt theyโ€™ll cause issues in finalsย

Surely we can't have dropped marks as contenders for Mark of the Year...

Shouldn't have even been paid.ย

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFLโ€™s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.ย

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

Iโ€™ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we wonโ€™t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything youโ€™d like to ask or say below and weโ€™ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics youโ€™d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
