Is apparent bravery a way to now get away with obvious front on contact?  Happened numerous times against Frittata on Thursday and Tarrant just then got away with one.

I've also noticed players getting pushed in the back in marking contests and not being paid. It's more than holding one's ground, the aim is to take the opponent out of the contest. I thought Neale's mark on the boundary Punt Rd end was a clear push out. I think Petty got a good shove in another 1:1 contest

Happy for players to hold ground, but not if it clearly takes the opponent out of the contest

Is a fair comment, I just don't mind as we do it as much as any team.

It seems that MFCSS has mutated and there is now a strain called MFCVM (Melbourne Football Club Victim Mentality) which manifests itself by sooking about the umpires being against us, the AFL working to bring us down, the media having a vendetta against us and the MRP handing down decisions which are not in our favour.

There is no chance of Tom Stewart receiving any less than two weeks for that hit.

Two weeks would be pitiful! Should be a minimum of four.

It's quite dangerous and players are getting injured from it.

May injured by A Hawkins push in the back last year and then again by a gold coast player this year when pushed into a contest and concussed by Lever.

It goes against one of the main rules in the game. You should never be able to push people in the back.

Just crazy

Or some have mutated it into Must Defend The AFL Whenever syndrome. Most of the comments are about the corruption of AFL operations regardless of our club.  And if you don’t think the AFL has history in this I’m staggered.

Never let it be said that I'm an apologist for the AFL, sue.

I'm talking about that whiny element of our supporter base who tell themselves (and us) that Melbourne get picked on and treated more unfairly than other clubs.

I appreciate this forum is a place to vent for some people, and what really riles me, is that there is often vitriol towards umpires from certain posters.

Personal attacks wouldn't be accepted against any other group. So why these individuals? It wouldn't be tolerated in my house against anyone, I'd send my 6yo to his room, and if I spoke like that, I'd send myself to the room and give myself a good long talking to about respect, compassion and common decency.

So it's been bugging me that this forum perhaps doesn't sanction that sort of commentary (perhaps it does and I am not aware of it).

We can do better Demonlanders. #notallDemonlanders

A sample of EO when people were 'attacking' "Britney' 😉...or 'PRGUY17'

What about the vitriol directed towards MFC players and Football department personal by quite a few posters, shouldn't that have been mentioned as well.

I said he wouldn't receive LESS than two weeks in response to those sooks who posted he'll only get a week and be back for our game because everything's stacked against us.  Four sounds right to me.

Safe to say you wouldn’t like this then…

Not saying you are one at all DStone but there are some posters who delight in boasting how superior they are by claiming to be super objective and rational unlike everyone else. They often go too far. There will always be over emotional supporters who go too far the other way

It's not over, but just a little excerpt from Geelong Big Footy:

'This game is enough evidence again that we aren’t getting close to the flag. Pressure goes up and the same players just s**t the bed again and again without fail. It’s in the clubs DNA, poo your pants footy.'

A beautiful thing.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    PREGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

The Demons head back to Melbourne after an embarrassing loss to the Dockers to take on the Magpies at the MCG on Kings Birthday. With a calf injury to Lachie Hunter and Jacob van Rooyen possibly returning from injury who comes in and who goes out?
