I'm warming to the idea of playing Trac as a permanent forward against the Lions and replacing him in the guts with Gus. We have become very predictable and teams are feeding off that

Gus is in form and Trac has been struggling to impact on the ball

We desperately need some strong bodies in the F50 and that won't be coming from BB or Weid assuming he is gifted another opportunity

Gus whilst playing great footy at HBF can be covered if we have May, Petty, Lever, Salem. Pig and any of (Bowey, Rivers, Hunt)

I like it, good post, would love to see them change it up a bit

Gus would get the same amount of possessions as Trac at the moment , maybe more & we need a forward to help Fritta with another 3 or so goals

The big forwards we have aren’t & won’t get it done on a cold winters night at the G

Would bring Weid straight into the ruck for 60% of the game Dogga 40,%. No good playing Weid mainly forward he's too easy to defend. More chance to get a couple of goals from LJ

I like this idea.  Andrews and Adams have his measure.  Giving Weed the ruck game could really force him to be physical and crash some packs. I'm sure he would be able to take an intercept mark or two and he would have a significant mobility edge on Oscar.

Pity we didn’t pick up Bell from Casey in the midseason draft

Our injury list blossomed just a week or so too late.  Looking with the benefit of hindsight, should / could we have put Howes on the long term injury list and allowed him the full 2022 season to recover?  It will be frustrating if he doesn't get at lest a handful of Casey games later in the year.

I have been searching through injury reports and cannot find any useful info on Majak Daw apart from a number of posters asserting that he is injured. If this is the case what is the injury and how long is he unavailable?? Given that he is our backup ruckman that should provide coverage for Max / LJ I am a bit annoyed that the club have not provided some explanation for his unavailability. The info provided on DL is confusing at best and suggestions that Majak is not up to playing AFL makes me wonder where the truth lies.

KC can you provide any info to support or refute Majak’s fitness and wellbeing as we could really use his Presence over the next 4-6 weeks.

He's been in & out of the McGoos over the last three to four weeks or so.  I figured it might have been the flu/covid.

So, after playing pretty much every match bar the last few weeks and being a chance of getting a call up at a time of need, he's now possibly out for the next four weeks or so!??  Couldn't make this stuff up 🥴

Not too sure that Majak is actually injured.Perhaps he is on some sort of training mission. Why wouldn't he be listed as injured on the Demon website.......... the sit is next to useless.  Why have not trained players in the reserves to become "swingman" like Tom Mac. Tomlinson , Daw and J.Smith ( not so much defence due to too many injuries)  should be constantly tried. Winning a flag is that important as to cover for T.Mac is very important . Perhaps Daw will get a call up.

It's not impossible that Daw has personal issues which may explain why he neither plays nor is listed as injured.  Hopefully not.

No way.  Weideman is not a ruckman.

He's actually a better ruckman than he is a forward. That's saying something....

While I remain confident we can turn it around, a look at our current key forwards and rucks, when compared to our main opposition, is frightening.

A relatively short, young ruckman and an out of form FF, are basically on their own.

Yes we lost Max and Tom, but we seem to have left ourselves with no depth in these two areas.

take the equivalent of max and plugger mac out of any side and the would look noticeably short on personnel

I can understand why we stuck with Weid, if he was willing to stay it would’ve been hard for the club and coaches to move him on.

Sticking with Daw and Mitch Brown both deep in to the twilight of their careers looks like hubris after the flag to me. Neither of them have the bodies for consistent AFL footy and it’s been years since they played proper stints.

At a minimum it would’ve been nice to have a couple of guys train with the club over summer to push their cases.

If Daw is fit he has to come in just to do the simple bounce grunt. On ground time will be say 70%.

The M Brown experiment has not worked. Hunt was a good forward in 2019 (?) so that's a possibility. Otherwise it's Weideman.

Cannot see enough fire power in Chandler or Bedford

Replacing Sparrow with Dunstan is a possibility but it doesn't excite me.

Down back I'll leave the Rivers/Bowey discussion to the selectors

Look at the other sides in the 8 and take out a Tom Mac type and all have more options than us. All have more ruck options too.

I think no injuries last year and then the flag, misled us as to our depth in a couple of positions and we might pay for it this year.

The part that amuse me the most was how at the end 2020 Tmac was not required and without him in the first part of 2021we may not have even made the GF. Now he is injured in 2022 and our forward line looks very ordinary without him.

If we had lost Tmac in 2020 when he was on the market then I doubt we would won the flag in 2021. He carried the forward line in the first 8-9games of 2021.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
