Watching the GWS vs WC game today shows me just how off we are. Gws up by 54 at half time. Instead, we get outplayed by a half. But it's apparently ok because its 'not our style'. It's no surprised Kangaroos outplayed us for a large chunk of the game too.

Next week is a big test because we are miles off at the moment. Like how about our defensive zone after a behind? we just get sliced through with ease every time. Need to short that s*** out asap.

I think you need to put your keyboard away or find a non-football forum to post on. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

It looks like GWS will win by 70-80 points, roughly the same margin we beat WCE by, and coincidentally not much more than we beat GWS by a few weeks before that.

We are not about to lose 7 of the next 8 games, we may lose 1 or 2, or we might just keep winning. You are actually getting tiresome.

From 40 plus out though CYB?  Sparrow maybe but doesn't get many opportunities as he isn't playing as a genuine forward.

Fritta from 40 plus .... meh.

BBB on a good day but then goes missing sometimes like yesterday.

Plugga Mac not a young fella.  Still think we need a big tall marking forward who can roost them from 40 plus and doesnt struggle with the extra distance (from 2023).

Van Rooyen will be our version of Naughton!!

It's funny because all you could hear on the TV was North fans booing

Wasn’t much point us Melbourne supporters making much noise when we couldn’t lose, bit of polite applause was all that was required!

You may be interested in the hawthorn Brisbane game then.
we got sliced open a few times last year too. By bad teams mainly with nothing to lose. Good teams are less likely to do that as it can bite you in the [censored] just as easily as it can work.
from my perspective our system is stronger than last year so far because we’ve ground out a few games that looked like the losses we had last year.
form and standing isn’t static. Different teams match up better against each other. Fitness, form, match ups, training loads etc all come into it week to week.
we got sliced open to the tune of 52 points yesterday. Brutal.

next week is a test. Freo need to score against us though. They won’t fly through the middle because they play a defensive system like we do.
we’ve stood up this year when needed and to suggest otherwise is to be barely paying attention.

Well you’re clearly not in the cheer squad. 😁 Melbz  could be 30 goals up and us lunatics don’t drop a decibel, and we still wave those giant heads like our lives depend on it.

Imagine if you were a Lions or Dockers supporter this weekend. Your membership would be in the microwave, and you'd be calling for Fagan and Longmuir to be sacked.

Are you in the cheer squad? Any special plans for our home game as Narrm this week? Was listening yesterday at the ground, but didn’t hear any ‘Narrm’ chants.

The Demon army were using the "Narrm Army" chant.

I also heard the chant "Naaaarrm" going around towards the end of the final quarter once we were well in front.

Oh that’s cool. I was on the wing, and perhaps it got drowned out by the sound of North supporters constantly booing?

Surely they could have used the "Narrmy Army" chant.

Oh we were NARRM chanting our asses off. During all quarters. Likely you didn’t hear it coz the Dees supporters behind and beside us weren’t aware that we were substituting NARRM for MELBOURNE as well as for DEMONS, and were joining in the usual chant.
There was one NARRMY ARMY chant mimicking the BARMY ARMY chant but some of us voiced our concern re potential disrespect so that was 86-ed pronto.
This week’s banner will definitely feature NARRM again. Hopefully the reverse will be acknowledging Melks’s 200th. 🤞🏼

I think that’s a little distasteful. And I wasn’t the only one who felt this way. Ergo, no Barmy Army chant.

Melbourne supporters have no idea how to support a good team. Almost like it’s a video game or a game played by androids. And if that sounds condescending…

It is.

I'm worried about when we play the good teams like Brisbane and Freo

With the form that we're in, we're losing to Freo (play them twice), Carlton, Sydney, Brisbane twice. Geelong (GMHBA) and maybe the dogs. That's 7-8 losses if we continue to play this poorly.

Isn't this exactly what you said after the Hawks game? That we were trash and weren't going to get close to StKilda?

On 4/30/2022 at 8:07 PM, Deedubs said:

True. I just think we should recognise that we aren't in form. We're playing like trash. We won't get close to Stkilda if we play like this.  People love talking about gears. When will we get into gear? If not round 7, round 10? round 18? round 23? finals? Who knows.

Yes. It's exactly what you said.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
