David King is such a frustrating commentator/analyst. He takes a bob each way every single time.

How can you suggest putting David Mundy into the forward line while at the same time saying "there's heaps of time left, just hold your heads"?

There’s still time but dropping games like this can derail the season, we know that better than some.

Much the same that Saints dropping the Cairns game to Port, this could be the start of a dip for Freo.

Even last year when Melbourne dropped some games against lower sides, we were in the game right till the end. The fact that Freo haven't been competitive since halfway through the 2nd would be worrying for them.

Based on this showing, Fremantle isn't where we were last year, let alone where we are this year.

This will put Gold Coast at 4-5, with three wins against top six sides (Carlton, Sydney, Fremantle).

They have the Dogs, Hawthorn and North before the bye. 6-6, if not 7-5, is on the cards.

They then have home games against Adelaide, Collingwood and West Coast, and road trips to Essendon, Hawthorn and North. That's another six winnable games right there.

Finals set? Not yet, surely.

The thing about this Suns rebuild that they've finally gotten right is the people they've brought from other clubs. Players like Chole and Casboult aren't superstars but they're honest players who set standards and have A-grade qualities in certain areas.

Players like Gary Ablett were never what this side needed.

Steven Mays interview On the Couch this week was telling IMO.
Come down to us from GC thinking his skin folds were ok at the start of pre-season.
Got a shock to find out how far behind he was when he got here.
Trained hard to catch up before the start of the season and then got injured 2nd game in.

Well done to the Suns.  That was a great performance.  Witts is a wholehearted player who sets a great example.  Miller is an absolute jet.  He's as good as most mids going around at the moment.  Their young players are really coming on as well.  Good on them.

lol just flipped over to the Blues game and see scores are level. I thought I saw them up 20-0. When are they going to sort out their fast-start-then-stop-for-the-rest-of-the-game approach?

I was very impressed by the Suns when we played them earlier in the season and felt they would be tough to beat especially on their home track. They are definitely on the improve.

The win also means that the competition has had its quota of upset defeats and we can look forward to the game later today with a little more confidence. 😉

Are you a believer in some higher power dealing out quotas, or that word will filter through to our players to watch out?   And then take advantage of the situation.

I think Andy/Demonland views the world as being balanced on the eye of a needle perched in the bowl of a giant Premiership cup, with the all-seeing eye of Norm Smith doling out judgment on all things football (and perhaps beyond).

So, in short, it all comes back to what Norm thinks. Him being the Higher Power and all that.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2024

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
