Deeoldfart 8,201 Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 I love it. Dees continuing to lead the way, both on and off the field. 13 Quote

tdavis 44 Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 longsleeve guernsey already available at the dees shop. A bit too extravagant for my liking, reminds me of the bulldogs. https://shop.melbournefc.com.au/melbourne-demons-indigenous-2022-long-sleeve-guernsey/ 3 Quote
The heart beats true 18,201 Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 I love changing the name for the round. That’s such a good idea. Hope cheer squad gets behind it with the chant. 11 Quote

In Harmes Way 7,870 Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 I agree with all that think the Narrm Dees footy club rebranding is a great idea. Gees I couldn't be prouder of our club. Hopefully the Kangaroos take on North Narrm for the round, also has a nice ring to it. 4 2 Quote
La Dee-vina Comedia 17,137 Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 It's a small thing, but I like that the two players in the photo wearing the jumper are May and Viney - a player with indigenous heritage and one without. Whether it's deliberate or not, it shows that indigeneity is integrated into the club. If it had been May and Pickett (or any other indigenous player), that integration would be less obvious. 15 Quote

I think North Melbourne has a completely different indigenous name. 2 1 Quote

Straight Sets Simon 23,113 Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 I’d love something permanent, I know we change our logo every three minutes but a little “Narrm” in there would be great. 6 Quote
Guest Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 I like this. I reckon our club has taken real steps in progressing along a path of reconciliation. Not sure about the jumper though. Looks a bit too much like the Bulldogs’ Captain America jumper from a few years back. 🫤 Quote
Sideshow Bob 2,498 Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 love the devil snake on the back of the jumper, love the names . Hate the front this time - FAR too much going on. Have always loved the Indigenous designs but not sold at all on this one 1 Quote

Red and Blue realist 2,063 Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 I hope they also have the team song in the indigenous language as well - they did this when we played at Alice Springs a few years back (can't remember when exactly) and I thought it was great, but haven't noticed that they have done that again? I'd love it if they incorporated it after every win actually, 2 or so renditions of the normal song then another of the indigenous version - although I know there are over 200 different languages they use, so not sure if the one at the Alice Springs game was more for that area? 5 1 Quote
