I love it.  Dees continuing to lead the way, both on and off the field.

I agree with all that think the Narrm Dees footy club rebranding is a great idea. Gees I couldn't be prouder of our club.

Hopefully the Kangaroos take on North Narrm for the round, also has a nice ring to it.

It's a small thing, but I like that the two players in the photo wearing the jumper are May and Viney - a player with indigenous heritage and one without. Whether it's deliberate or not, it shows that indigeneity is integrated into the club. If it had been May and Pickett (or any other indigenous player), that integration would be less obvious.

I think North Melbourne has a completely different indigenous name.

Man I do love the stories behind these amazing jumpers. Well done Ky-ya.

I like this. I reckon our club has taken real steps in progressing along a path of reconciliation.

Not sure about the jumper though. Looks a bit too much like the Bulldogs’ Captain America jumper from a few years back. 🫤

love the devil snake on the back of the jumper, love the names .

Hate the front this time - FAR too much going on. Have always loved the Indigenous designs but not sold at all on this one

jackson pollock would be impressed

I hope they also have the team song in the indigenous language as well - they did this when we played at Alice Springs a few years back (can't remember when exactly) and I thought it was great, but haven't noticed that they have done that again? I'd love it if they incorporated it after every win actually, 2 or so renditions of the normal song then another of the indigenous version - although I know there are over 200 different languages they use, so not sure if the one at the Alice Springs game was more for that area?

  • REPORT: Adelaide

The atmosphere at the Melbourne Football Club at the beginning of the season was aspirational following an injury-plagued year in 2024. Coach Simon Goodwin had lofty expectations with the return of key players, the anticipated improvement from a maturing group with a few years of experience under their belts, and some exceptional young talent also joining the ranks. All of that went by the wayside as the team failed to click into action early on. It rallied briefly with a new strategy but has fallen again with five more  consecutive defeats.

  • CASEY: Coburg

The Casey Demons returned to their home ground which was once a graveyard for opposing teams but they managed to gift the four points on offer to Coburg with yet another of their trademark displays of inaccuracy in front of goals and some undisciplined football that earned the displeasure of the umpires late in the game. The home team was welcomed by a small crowd at Casey Fields and looked right at home as it dominated the first three quarters and led for all bar the last five minutes of the game. In the end, they came away with nothing, despite winning everywhere but on the scoreboard and the free kick count.

  • PREGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne

After four weeks on the road the Demons make their long awaited return to the MCG next Sunday to play in a classic late season dead rubber against the North Melbourne Kangaroos. Who comes in and who comes out?

  • POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.
