I should also mention that I wish Simon Goodwin a speedy recovery!

Having COVID-19 is very frustrating. I had it myself a few weeks ago and then my Parents got it as well. They have both now recuperated but it definitely took longer than expected.

I still want to give Simon Goodwin a hug for helping end our 57 year Premiership drought but I will probably have to wait quite a while to be able to ever do that!  😂

I tested positive 3 weeks ago. I'm still feeling fatigued and washed out. Frustrating is the right word.

Three players out with it according to Sam Edmund (hasn’t said who yet).

Assuming Luke Jackson and Toby Bedford could be 2 of them based on Toby's Instagram Story.

You might be on the money here...

I believe Clayton Oliver also lives in this household.

If that is the case and Luke and Toby have COVID then that means that Oliver will almost certainly be out this week too.

I thought that Clarry bought a house in Camberwell recently, don’t know if he has the other two boys living there though.

Concerning considering they attended the light training run yesterday according to the photos MFC put up..

Training gallery shows Jackson training yesterday, if he’s one of the 3 it means he’s tested positive after the session or this morning. How often do they get tested these days?

Been waiting for this to come back!

Life delivers lots of curve balls these days.

study out of the US today* ....based on antibody tests 50% of adults and 75% of children have had covid.

At least the changes thread will come to life

Good luck to Adem, he inspires great confidence, hope none of our players have got COVID from Goodwin and we go in with a near full team (only Salem out of best 22 atm with Viney and Lever back in).

How does not one reporter ask the sentimental question about how it feels to senior coach the club you played for, I think it’s pretty special, hasn’t happened many times for the MFC, last one was Barassi? No instead 15 questions about what Goodwin will do at home 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Go Oooooze smash those Hawks!!

According to Wikipedia, last ex-Melbourne player to coach was Todd Viney in 2011 (5 games) and, before that, Greg Hutchison in 1997 (13 games).

I recall Clarry saying he already had COVID back during Xmas & NY in Melbourne. LJ is probably one of the few left in the team uninfected given he spent most of the year and pre-season in WA which as we know is just approaching peak right now. Clarry is pushing the limits of his natural immunity post infection, but hopefully it holds at the 16-20 week mark and he isn't one of the cases.

Lets face it, it was the only way we were potentially going to lose a game. Just sucks that it had to be easy-kill Hawthorn. The other plus, is that it was early enough that hopefully they fully recover and are ready to go against the Saints.

Majak to make his debut if Jacko is out?

I think TMac will come in for LJ and we may possibly use one of the 3 forwards to rotate through the ruck as they all have a level of experience.

Dees just posted some training photos from today.

Can rule out the following players from the list of players with COVID or in isolation.

* Baker

* Fritsch

* Hunt

* May

* Dunstan

* Harmes

* Bowey

Looks like Oliver standing behind Steven May in the background.

Is Yze the right man though ... when does someone start that thread?

Did he review the 2018 prelim?

Bedford trained today. Kozzy and Dogga did not. Trac wasn’t spotted.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

    Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

    Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
