9 goals aint gonna win you too many football games! Need to lift, kicking practice blah blah blah

Dunno, comes pretty close when you've got the best defence keeping your opposition to an average of 9ish goals a game too....

....I'd still rather win a lot more comfortably though ahahah

As usual, we got the job done. Our innaccuracy front of goal was certainly frustrating to watch but at least we didn't let Richmond take advantage of it. Tonight showed that teams find it difficult to play against us. We're impossible to score against.

Oliver was unbelievable. He was the difference between the two sides. Fritsch is such an important part of our forwardline. Even when he's not getting many possessions, he changes the momentum of the game by kicking crucial goals.

The defence means we can have a very ordinary game forward of center and still stay in touch or lead at half time.

Now we need to settle that forward line (fingers crosed BB & weid stay fit) and work much harder on connecting coming inside as well as connecting from the boundary inside 50 more often!

Need to work on hitting up leads and/or open targets that have a decent chance of scoring on lessor angles (a little more often) instead of blazing away so often from 50ish and the boundary in hope.

Do the above and we'll be almost unstoppable.

that was an 8 goal win, disregard the deplorable accuracy, were in control after the 1st 15 minutes.

How do Lever and Salem get back in, haha, the whole backline was fantastic  tonight

I feel like there’s going to be this narrative that Richmond hung in there and did well, truthfully around the ground and in all the important parts of the game we destroyed them. The score line is insanely flattering and they should be counting their lucky stars that our forwards were having a poor night, and our mid/forward connectivity was off.

This was us at 65% kicking at awful efficiency in front of goal.

Clarry easily BOG, though Brayshaw put in another excellent, calming performance.

Mark it down, let’s get the kicking tips out at training, and move on to the Hawks.

I think Lever for Smith is a no brainer

This is a sign of how cocky I’ve become: I get annoyed when other teams try against us. Just roll over and cop it please.

It’s very hard to keep winning, even though we didn’t finish our good work from the back often enough, it’s very obvious we are extremely hard to beat.
Shout out to Hunty, thought he was very good on Bolton. Petty will be a star if he’s not already.

That was as ugly to watch as the Port game. On that occasion, the low quality of the game was on them because of the garbage style of football they chose to play.

Tonight, the degradation of the game as a spectacle was on us because of our terrible kicking for goal. I think at times we were a bit too cute for our own good and would have been better off centering rather than blazing away.

That said, we definitely were the superior team. Our pressure, positioning at the fall of the ball and contesting in the air gave us the amount of inside 50s that ultimately won the game.

Best for mine was Clarry by a mile. That said, he could have been a lot more efficient tonight. His disposal accuracy was around 60 odd percent and I felt that his connection going forward has been better.

Our backs were absolutely rock solid. Petty, while not as naturally gifted as either Lever or May, is nearly is as important as them for mine. His disposal and decision making has improved out of sight compared to those few uncertain first games (but what player hasn't been that way when they start off?)

Nibbler had an absolute mare, but that happens. It reminded me of a game that Bernie Vince had against the Suns in 2017 when nearly everything he touched turned to poo. I'm willing to back him in as you can't doubt his work rate.

Weed, while not setting the world on fire, has secured his spot. BBB has been middling in his last two games, so compared to the rest of our tall forwards, he has been round abouts. Plus he was able to kick bloody straight (something that most of our blokes struggled to do).

I get the feeling that we will drop one soon. I think if Dusty and Grimes were in tonight, then the game would have been much closer (his class could have even got the Tiges over the line). Once we bank a few more wins, I'd say loading will begin and we will drop one or two.

Anyway, we win and we move on. Bring on the Hawks.

hate it when we shut up shop in the last. I get it, but gee, would love it if they kept the foot down.

Tiges played as big a part in that, which doesn’t surprise given they have a 5 day turnaround over in WA

Too right. Bolton is their match-winner. Hunt was great.

Time to wheel out Choco  Williams footy with the stripe down to middle  at training so the team can work on goal kicking skills

Got the four, GO DEES

But in all seriousness if we kick better this is a demolition job.
It’s good to win under different pressures and scenarios.
Onto next week.

Clarry is next level.
