Are either of these sides a threat?

Others are better qualified to judge than me Jaded, but I don’t think so. Both look good in the middle but freo don’t look great up front and I don’t think Carlton have the defence or fitness to worry us come finals

Yes. Freo play a similar game to us.

Freo are definitely playing like us, they don’t have the kicking ability but they have a huge home ground advantage.

That Carlton jumper is an embarrassment

How can they sing, with any modicum of enthusiasm, “we are the navy blues” when they wear white?

A Brayshaw is an OK player, isn’t he?🤗

Not sure they’ll be singing tonight…they are a mid table team at best…don’t tell their supporters though

Apparently locals now refer to the left of screen as the Bang Bang Bang end...

Blues on the ropes in this featherweight title match.

I don't think that is an issue they will need to grapple with tonight.

And Darcy calls one wing the commentator side and the other wing the far side.

Really painting a picture.

For those who know where he is sitting.

He is so difficult to understand…needs to learn syllables. A terrible commentator but to be fair he is a bit like Carlton - mid range

You just have to love Mundy.

He would be a very good mentor to play under. Just gets the job done every week and makes the most of his talents with hard work.

Shockers are still a bit loose, but they are running in 2’s and 3’s

They are becoming a good side

This annoys me so much too. He may as well say ‘kicking in the direction of my butlers pantry’.

Maybe in their weight division BBO. They need to beef up though if they want to go toe to toe with the heavyweight champions of the AFL.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
