I was hoping they’ll have more inside footage of like the addresses at half time or Gawn out on the field in the huddle at 3/4 time.
It was a bit same same. Lucky I love watching us win flags.
An easy watch. Would watch us win again. 10/10.

So bloody cut at Foxtel right now. Out of the house so planned to watch on Foxtel GO using my account. Didn't finish working until 9:30. Turned it on and....and the bloody app doesn't let you watch more than 30 minutes earlier. So i can't watch from the start. I swear, the logic of some of these apps is bizarre.

Guess I have to wait until it's on demand.

Well that was an hour and a half very well spent.

Also, how alike do Todd and Jack look?

Spooky! Almost like they could be related...

What a doco and what crap times this club has been through. All that pain to finally get there. I only got to sit through it for 28 years, I couldn’t imagine 57 years of it. Dees fans are one of a kind.

see you all round one!!

lets goooooo!!!!

How bloody awesome was that.

As a 46 y.o rusted on Demon... the show was a recounting of my life. Was at western oval as a 12 y.o. in 87' and then at all the finals, there for 88, there through the yoyo 90s. The merger game. The 2000 run. The [censored] years and the guys who died way way too young.

Was at Optus oval - took the 8 year old son - so glad he doesn't understand the [censored] we've had on our plate for so long.

Enjoy the success now and fingers crossed for the year ahead

Thick lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. Being a Melbourne supporter is a life sentence. Wish it went for another 2 hours. Essential viewing.

Hahaha again my husband with his commentary throughout… “Gees Jack Viney really aged this pre season”

The confirmation of the Viney story from his first season, when he was 18, where he let some players know they were not giving it a real effort after being pumped in our first couple of games was amazing to hear.

Jonesy and Jetts… sad face.

Fantastic docco!

Hate him or love him that was a great performance by Garry Lyon. Well done to Mike Sheehan also who conducted the interviews.

My spine tingled the whole way through to the end from the moment they started discussing the Grand Final onwards.

I'm seriously so greedy and hungry for more finals success!

*I’ve got something in my eye

Great doco, it’s important to tell the history so it’s clear how much this means.

Gawn’s legend is growing. He is the modern day charismatic selfless leader we needed.

the talk of preseason feeling different and the players finally buying in has me so pumped for round 1

If we never win another flag in my lifetime, my biggest regret on my deathbed will be that I couldn’t be there to experience that joy in person.
I hope like hell we get to see it again live.

Anyone laugh when Ben Brown said he wanted to stay at North but then they were happy to trade him.

LOL Norf 🤪

Can't believe no mention whatsoever of Burgess or Taylor or Mahoney. And a one second reference of Peter Jackson. Those guys were pivotal in our rebuild and getting us to where we are today, in my opinion

Same…. [censored] I hope we get to see one in the flesh.

The images of the players coming off after the  “merger game” against the Hawks, the jacket Balme had on…. Makes me miss me Dad, he had the full length jacket the same as Balme and a Dees tracksuit he would wear to games.

We’d walk from Fitzroy to the G and stop off at pubs on the way, I was an embarrassed 18yr old and he couldn’t give two fks.

A bit harsh no defenders got an interview, especially as our defence won us the flag really. One of May, Lever, Sales should have been included

That was great, I do wish Garry Lyon could stop worrying about being so biased at times and just came out and said that grand final was the most dominant quarter and half ever played in the history of the sport.

Your Dad was clearly as tough as [censored].

Your Dad sounds like he was a legend.

  • GAMEDAY: Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons return to the MCG to face the Tigers in their annual Blockbuster on ANZAC Eve for the 10th time. The Dees will be desperate to reignite their stuttering 2025 campaign and claim just their second win of the season. Can the Demons dig deep and find that ANZAC Spirit to snatch back to back wins?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
