If Freo can't find the picks to do the deal do we target one of their players?

Realistically, who might that be?

Let's leave Brayshaw, Serong and Young out of the mix because that's not going to happen

The three or four good players they have are all contracted til around 2036

The others are Mundy (retired) & Fyfe (cooked)

Probably Meek or some dork like that

If we keep Jackson, Grundy and Gawn we could trade Maxy for an electric powered Jag. (Current model) and still retain some zip out of centre bounces.

Just checked and signed a deal till 2026 a couple months ago. If we target someone it would be someone like Henry or Meek or some other fringe player. I'd like Treacy but they've got no forwards so I can't see that happening. I honestly think Lobb would give us a better shot at a flag than Grundy too.

I had a look at their players and feels like they’ve signed most of their core.
Ever heard of this bloke? Me neither

I don’t care who you are that’s one of the more impressive highlight reals I’ve seen in a while

21 year old and 199cm key forward..

Just looked at his wafl stats, seems like he played in reserves for most of the year, and wasn't particularly impressive. Was going at 3 goals a game in the WAFL before being picked up midseason so could be something there though.

Since when did "turning down the opening offer" become 'playing hardball'

It would be great if Hutchy could spout the nonsense again about walking LJ to the PSD. Will at least put WC in the headlines

Freo currently have 13, F1st, North F2nd, North F3rd.

If Lobb to Dogs, say 25.

Maybe Treacy as steak knives and we have another young key forward.

Deal done.

Would give us say 13, our pick 18, 20 and 38 next year, in a strong draft and with picks to draft or trade.

This year 13 and say 25 ( Lobb ) and say 35 for Bedford.

We could bundle 13, 25 and 35 to get 2 slightly better picks and use them this year. You might get say 10 and 20.

See how easy it is.

We haven't got those really high picks, but we have got enough for this year and next.

A motley collection of mid range picks for a generational pick 3.

I know we will be screwed but please let's not sugar coat it

Come on down Eagles !!!

Are you saying Jacko for all of that?? I assume this is a joke.

Melb In > 13, 25, F1st (Freo), F2nd (North), F3rd (North) and Treacy
Freo In > Jackson

There's no way Freo would do that.  I know the pick values can be misleading but that equates to Pick 1, Pick 8 and Treacy (when they have as many young key forward options as we do)

Agree that deal is absurd.
We must get in 13, their future 1st and north’s future 2nd. We could throw back a future 3rd (or future 2nd at a stretch)

Well, you also can’t move all of your future picks either (in Freo’s case).

They must maintain a presence either in the first round, or the other rounds, for next year. Stupid confusing rules, but they’re there.

How about...

Jackson and pick 44 to Freo for pick 13, Future 1st, and (North's) Future 2nd

Picks 13 and 27 to Geelong for pick 7 - Geelong use 13 for Bruhn

Grundy to Dees for Freo's (North's) future 2nd

Dees trade 7 and our future 2nd to GWS for 15 and 19

Dees end up with Grundy, 15, 19 and future 1st for Jackson, 27, 44 and a future 2nd

No you already traded 27

That is the biggest load of garbage, there is no way he is going to the PSD.  That reporter is being lies by the WA clubs or he is just making things up.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
