Best “Before and After” ever. EVER.

I look at the top pic (every time I open my pantry door) and I think about how when this was taken these boys didn’t know that in a little over three hours’ time history would be made. None of us knew. We hoped. But none of us knew

And the bottom pic? Words aren’t needed.

For a break I’m watching one of my favourite three pre covid games.
2000 QF win v Carlton.
Green, Bruce and Yze in the last Q.

My other 2 favourites are in 1994 Final when Ox had a day out v Carlton.

And 1988 Prelim at VFL Park when we stopped Carlton going back to back.

Now there’s consequences and penalties for cheating, Carlton have had no success

It's weird, the more I hear about it the more I just cannot believe we actually did it. On abc grandstand they just replayed highlights and I got all excited again. We actually did it.

I'm not sure that it is strictly on topic, but here is a list of insults that Dr Smith directed to the robot on Lost in Space ...

https://irwinallen.fandom.com/wiki/Dr._Smith's_Insults

Perhaps they could be adapted for use towards some of the AFL commentators?

And yes ... I've probably lost the plot.

The cheer that went around the MCG when this happened in the replay on the Sunday get-together was as big as any.
Harmeses have a habit of being involved in Grand Final defining moments, and this is no exception.

Yep, it was a collective “here we go” moment. As was the booing of Max’s miss 😄

One ton is roughly equivalent to 2200 pounds or 1000 kg’s. To put this into perspective, the average adult male weighs about 90 kg’s. It would take 11 adult men to equal a ton.

For those wondering about other things that weigh one ton I’ve provided a list below

  • Baby Humpback Whale
  • Walrus
  • Black Rhinoceros
  • Wild Asian Water Buffalo
  • 1979 Volkswagen Beetle
  • 110.6 million feathers
  • 333 Standard Red Bricks
  • 73 Bullion bars of gold
  • 31.2 cubic feet of saltwater
  • Adult Male Moose
  • Saltwater Crocodile
  • 22 cubic feet of sand
  • Great White Shark

Your welcome

Add to this list The Western Bulldogs, still in a TON of pain and hurt😂

The more I watch the replay, the more I appreciate Fritta's roving abilities and uncanny goal sense. He has light speed reflexes and to be fair it was probably good Hannan moved on and Melksham didnt get a guernsey . Frittas skills are in a very elite class.

I think Caleb Daniel is a very good smart player............... However, watch Jake Bowey overtake him and become much, much better!

I’ve always disliked Bradshaw the commentator. But his bang. Bang bang bang! comment I thought was a great bit of spontaneous commentary., until ...

i was watching the Melb vs Geelong replay of their final round clash. Geelong has just kicked 4 goals in a row of which Hawkins kicked the last 3. Hamish McLachlan states that Hawkins had gone “bang, bang, bang” after Hawkins third.

I’ve gone back to seriously disliking Bradshaw the commentator all over again.

I'm sorry to disappoint all who love the Bang Bang Bang thing but he stole it from an NBA Commentator. I do love the moment tho and how it related to the game at the time but Brayshaws best moment on tv was stolen from another commentator.

Thanks for the education, but stolen, whatever, doesn't compare to the MFC GF "BANG, BANG, BANG" for impact and iconic moment in sport in my eyes.

Love him or loath him as a comentator in general (personally, I think he's ok), but Brayshaw's call has immortalised him as far as I'm concerned.

It won't even compare to the booing he will get in round 1 at the MCG.

In a valiant attempt to get this to 100 pages by New Year's Day, when did you know we had won the GF?

For me it was that moment in the PF, so far ahead in the 3rd quarter but Gus and Hibbo were madly diving in the Geelong goal square to deny even a point. Then I thought 'they will not let anybody beat them'.

Clarry's goal for me. My head said 24 points was still game on, but in my heart I knew.

I like Brayshaw and I think his bang thing was awesome and is now iconic. But I think my favourite call of Clarry's goal was on ABC radio. I don't know who the caller was but he said "the demons...they're seeing what paradise must look like." Which just felt completely accurate because in that moment we all left this mortal realm.

Same here, Deeves. Even though it’s won and done, the Ashes has been very entertaining. And the AO will no doubt be great to watch/go to. But this year is different. This year the footy season can’t come quick enough. This winning feeling is addictive!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
