We won the Premiership after missing the final the previous year. Surely that’s rare. Does anyone know when that last happened?

Would be Richmond in 2017 wouldn’t it?

I’d also like to know who was the most recent losing GF team to kick 6 goals in a quarter and yet still lose like the Dogs did last night.

Unfortunately all the players who played even 1 game this year could not get some sort of reward for their dedication and effort for the club.

Jones Gawn and Viney lived all the bad and only Gawn and Viney get to enjoy the feeling of joy of a premiership player for the MFC

Well I am hoping while the players are in a drunken state and signing some club merchandise Gary Pert and Tim Lamb put long term contract extensions in front of Oliver and Jackson.

Impressed with the young guys last night. All the known suspects, Jackson, Rivers etc. But boy was Tom Sparrow excellent. Might have a player.

And of course Bowser!

Wonderful team. Wonderful club.  They didn't choke (unlike this sad pathetic demons supporter who walked out of the TV room at half time. Too much MFCSS).

Yesterday I was one of a very small group on this planet who remembered where they stood on that day we last won the flag.  I was 8 years old, stuck in a kitchen in Surrey Hills, gutted when Gabelich put the dreaded Pies in front,  then stunned when we hit the front and held on (thank you Neil Crompton).

Today,  I'm just one of millions around the world who have lived the dream.  To misquote Kevin Costner from Field of Dreams...'This isn't Iowa.  This is heaven.'

Wow!!!!!!

Congrats all enjoy it.

Special thanks to the planning years ago, when we told Alan Richardson he would come to us while he was Saints Coach and he gratefully took McCartin in the draft leaving us the Norm Smith medallist. Premierships are planned years before.

We smashed the other contenders each game.

Unbelievable, we are back.

Go Dees.

My God Mr Leg we have been through a lot of crap this last 57 years. How sweet is this morning. To be honest I am a bit Flat this morning  after half a century of losing I am well equipped to handle it. Winning is a whole new ball game!

I see there is an event in Perth today with the team. To the Supporters in Perth enjoy guys we will get our chance next year!!!!

Well, I woke up Sunday morning
With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt
And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad
So I had one more for dessert.

I feel I need some Johnny cash to keep the session going.

Theme song Verse 2 rewrite:

Oh the team played fine to win 12 previous flags,

We’re demons that no one can lick,

And you’ll find us there at the final bell,

with the spirit of 2021!!!!

... and we all know the rest of the song.

GO DEES!!!💙❤️

I woke up very emotional this morning.

I can't believe it - WE WON THE PREMIERSHIP!!!!

I was so lucky to have been able to attend at Optus - it's something that I will cherish forever.

I love this club - and boy did you test me over the last 15 years. But you really did deliver, like you said you would all those years ago.

What an amazing accomplishment by this group, and to those whom set it up along the way.

Thank you, Dees. Thank you so so much

All last week I didn't like hearing people say, 'All I want to see is a good game.'

You know what? They were right. I think we saw a very, very good game.

Three goals in 50 seconds before 3Q time is good football

Morning Green Demon. Sean was a Glaswegian although he was scouted from County Kerry where he played Gaelic football. His nickname at the club was haggis.

Yes, a Scot for sure. A former team-mate of mine (cricket, a game he loved) and fortunate enough to re-connect and become good friends about 4-years before he passed. Ripping bloke with a strong moral compass.

One of my most memorable and emotional moments was a 30-minute conversation at Sean's wake with his mother (Peggy), telling her of how proud he was of her - Sean spoke of her often. Peggy spoke of how bittersweet the last 6-months of Sean's life were, knowing he was going to pass but getting to spend more time with him...remembering that our game took her son to the other side of the world when he was still a very young man.

Peggy's parting words "promise you will never forget my son".

Peggy Wight...promise kept!

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
