I’m randomly tearing up now. God help me. Two more hours.

@Return to Glory, missing our Grand Final pilgrimage this year. Nevertheless, having a beer now and soaking up all the pre-game coverage - hoping I’ll make it to the opening bounce!! Go Dees!! Next year at the G.

Have medical subs been confirmed?

7 news said it was Jordon on Thursday night, but it doesn’t get picked until an hour before the game I thought…

Watching the all blacks first.   Then the man event

final team sheets are 90 mins before the bounce, i believe

They just showed the players out on the ground. Hunty is there. Could he be the sub after all?

And just in case we needed another omen, US Ryder Cup team (favorites) fixed up Europeans on the first day. What were they wearing? RED AND BLUE STRIPES!

Ugh the storm are currently losing. I've switched over to the 7 coverage. Boys are currently out on the field.

Oh it's nearly game time.

Well done all you Non Dee Perthites for a projected full stadium and more so if they support us. Great to have a crowd and a reasonably big one at that.

You'd expect that we'd need at least one emergency other than the sub to warm up, in case of a late emergency, so even if Jordon is the sub, Hunt would have to be ready just in case.

Jon Ralph just confirmed on Fox Footy that Michael Hibberd will sign a new 1 year deal.

I love Daisy. More importantly, I respect her. ❤️💙

Thanks Dazzle. I've always been a big fan. Always hard at it. Great decision maker and works exceptionally hard. Provides a good physical presence  and despite age and size is reasonable quick.Totally locked down a few classy players including dusty.

Came in late this season and immediately had a big impact. Yes dropped off a little towards the end of season but hugely instrumental in setting up our early domination and I'm wrapped he's been rewarded with an extension.

Less than 2 hours to go!

I don't know what else to do. I've done some baking, swept, had a drink, cleaned the kitchen, had a drink, swept again (first effort bad or the little man is eating something crumbly that I didn't give him), and reorganised the pantry. I even reformatted an old piece of junk laptop. Oh, there was another drink in there somewhere.

What the hell am I supposed to do now?

[censored] me it’s like someone’s died at my place, going to have to put on some music and liven things up.

Never again this late….

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
