I also got a nice text from a Dogs mate who said something like 'they are playing great footy now mate, enjoy it!'. respect the dogs a lot. no current team could've stopped that momentum.

I just had a look at the Norf's big footy page to see what they had to say about BBB.

While there was some to and fro about him, what infuriated and disgusted me were some vile and disgusting posts about Daisy Pearce by a couple of absolute pigswill and moronic posters.

It stems (they claim) from a comment Daisy made about BBB leaving Norf for Melbourne.

I have now moved Norf  to the top of my most hated oppo supporters list and fervently hope that their ****ty club remains cellar dwellers until they are disbanded.

It was nice to read the positive comments of our win. Especially about Pettracca being the most worthy Norm Smith medalist ever and we are the best team of the season. Poor Tom English coped a fair bit of heat though.

It is one of the best GF performances of all time. I think it beats any of the 3 that Dusty won.

The debate about Oliver or Trac being the best in the comp will go on. Heck I change my mind every week. And to think we have both of them in our team!

This was my favourite from the BF forum:

Since Gary Rohan kicked a goal to put Geelong 44 points up in round 23, Melbourne has scored 409 to 171, a percentage of 239.2

To have that dominance in the last 4 games, including finals, against the top 4 teams..we were truly a class above.

Cheers - that is fun to read!

This is my favourite:

"If Brown runs in from any further back Mark McGowan won't let him back into WA"

Another good read over on BF re our 16.4.100 to 1.1.7 run...

Bit inaccurate. It should read '4 of their last 4 matches'. Our second quarter against the Lions was akin to our last quarter against Cats in Round 23, 3rd quarter against Geelong and last 28 mins yesterday, we just didn't capitalise and kick straight. We should have been up by 10 goals at half time in that game!

Dogs are a great football club with a long history of scrapping and giving their fans something to be proud of. Was unusual for them to go out like they did last night...hard to say how much of it was the toll of the last month of travel and how much was just an over powering by our mids.

I generally think the MFC have handled themselves pretty well in showing some class and humity in winning. Hopefully it continues club wide (including supporters).

I thought the doggies blog site was more balanced than ours would have been should the shoe have been on the other foot.

My favourite observation was "How will teams counter Melbourne? They are like a freight train that runs you over."

'Enjoy this now mate'

- text message I received from a quality human (and mad doggies fan) early in the 4th qtr

I got a similar one early in the last quarter from another gentleman and good friend Doggies long term member

”All over. Well played and well done to the Dees.  Enjoy the celebrations. Worthy premiers”

Oh, what was the song? Can't two teams like the same song?

Can’t a whole “generation”?! Even though it’s from a different generation -

What do you expect from a club that created the ‘Boris the Chicken’ videos?

That was an excellent read, never seen any of their work before.
Some comments about Max were very interesting.

I may have double-standards (at least I have some) in that I'd rip into Cats, Hawks, Pies & Bombers supporters. However would not want to ridicule/humiliate Bulldogs supporters.

And for clarification - Roger the Demon Dog was a pre-game omen, not post-game ridicule.

Worthy of a quick photoshop, this one

Just read 30 pages from 100. Was great to read and see various teams supporters point of view.
Hope someone has the time to turn it into a podcast/talking book. Would love to drive into work hearing the comments.
Thanks for the link

Gees that Bigfooty thread was a beauty, apart from the [censored] Collingwood poster posting 1000+ whinges about it being a blowout.

The Dogs supporters were great and the neutrals were 90%+ for us.

Brilliant read.

Best thing I read was from a Hawks supporter H2F who posted this. Looks like our dreams have come true.

"Petracca and Oliver are like nothing I’ve seen. It’s like having Buckley and Voss together or Danger and Dusty. Amazing."

I always said Rohan wasn’t a useless footballer.

Agreed.,i have a friend who’s hard core doggies and his graciousness in defeat  has been amazing. Reckon they’ve suffered too much in the same kinda ways we have  to hate.

Very true.  One of my Dogs-supporting co-workers brought me a Melbourne-themed cupcake at work today.  One of my mates was very insistent that they got the worst of the umpiring, but concedes that we were just way too good and controlled the game.  The consensus is pretty much that we deserved the win and no hard feelings.

I was lucky enough to watch the game with a sizeable crowd at the star garden bar.

I had an absolute [censored] of a Doggies supporter get in my face as he walked off to go get a beer after bont just snapped his third putting them 19 up.

The little [censored] walked back about 10 mins later as clarry just put us 24 up. I just gave him a little smirk and winked at him, he clearly hadn't seen the scores yet and didn't know his team had completely [censored] the bed.

He was so weak every time he walked passed our table for the rest of the night he pretended to be on a phone call 😄

  • GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

It's Game Day and the Demons are back on the road for their 3rd interstate game in 4 weeks as they face a fit and firing Crows at Adelaide Oval. With finals now out of our grasps what are you hoping from the Dees today?

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
