We have a few family members using our barcodes tonight ..they have bought demon gear & are firmly on the Dees. They come from different parts of Perth and all say that support for Melb is huge. They love the players..Trac ..Oliver..Gawn & of course the WA boys. I was at that stadium in 2018 & the noise has to be heard to be believed. Imagine if our boys are running out to that & it’s for them. If we have the crowd..we have the umpires …but believe the boys have got this tonight & comfortably…

in case we lose and everyone returns to hating each other… let me just say i love you all. passionate, disagreeable and argumentative as some of u may be , you’re all part of my dee heart. It’s been a hard road to travel as a supporter and this morning I can feel how much we’re all in it together.

Allow me to add to this… if the worst should happen tonight, please, please don’t be too hard on our boys. Just remember what May said to Maxy just before he kicked that goal after the siren.

“We’ve got your back. No matter what happens, we still love you”

And if it’s good enough for Maysie it’s good enough for me!

More nervous than a small nun at a penguin shoot.

Also so excited, let's gooooooooo!!!!

Productivity absolutely smashed today...it has resulted in making lame memes.

I have nothing of value to add to this thread other than my expressions of nervous trepidation...

Go Dees.

But more than anything, as a club, from the coach to the fans, you are supremely arrogant, like no other club I've ever seen.

West Coast are a close second

Gees Louise, feeling nervous AF this morning.

I wish 5.50pm would hurry up and get here already.

I normally very much look forward to Dees games. But tonight ends either in despair or a continuation of nervousness and anxiety for a whole fortnight.

I think that number five is a pretty good player for us. 13 also shows some promise. And that little fellow who rests in the forward pocket played well last time. And of course that big number 11 . . . what a forward.

Edna is baking the scones this morning, I'll take Miffy, our toy poodle, around the block at lunchtime, and have my afternoon nap. I like a nice sherry with water at 5 o clock and I usually chat with a few of the old chaps from the firm on Friday afternoon. Edna and I usual go to bed at half time on Friday nights, but tonight we'll wait until three quarter time I think.

Go Fuchsias.

Wonder whether we'll see an announcement soon on Nathan Jones?

His wife is currently in hospital and expecting anytime soon.

One of the many on day release probably.

Have disliked Scofield intensely since he dropped Oliver with an 'elbow upper cut' at a break, was reported, appealed and got off.  Media claimed Oliver took a dive.

I find that article extremely unpleasant and tbh disrespectful.  We were naive on and off the field but what is the point to be dredging that stuff up now.   Chest beating, ra ra by yesterday's heroes.

He is a total peanut.

As noted by someone else he was a commentator for our AFLW game against freo this year. He made Brian Taylor and Darcy look like Denis Commeti and Bruce in his prime.

God awful and so ridiculously pro dockers.

And IIRC correctly, he was also bemoaning a dangerous tackle that was paid against them on the grounds that game was getting soft and 'its not netball'. He's a dinosaur.

On the article, i'm not sure what his point is. Well other than the fact he thinks we will carry mental scars into tonight's game.

Let's say he is right. What impact is he suggesting those mental scars will have?

Because he makes the point that they carried the scars of the 2015 GF loss into subsequent games at the G.

Sure, fine. But surely the mental scars are only relevant for the next Grand Final they played (ie it is the game not the ground).

And they took their very next opportunity to overcome that scarring by winning the 2018 GF.

We have played at Optus Oval since the prelim and only 6 weeks ago beat the Eagles at that very venue. So Optus Oval holds no fears.

And if we follow the Eagle's pattern we will overcome any prelim related scarring in our first opportunity to do so - tonight.

I assume Jones already knows if he's going to be the sub tonight.

I really hope the umps dont get too involved tonight and give the cats their usual helping hand.

Feeling oddly relaxed today ,going for the jab this morning @10 so that may change at about 9.55

Always tough getting a jab, remember - you may feel a little [censored], so ask your doctor to keep his pants on

The cats are a decent team that like port appear better than they are due to the number of wins they get from a very bias home ground advantage.

They are also a team with suspect staying power. A good start by us will see us home.

Dees by 27.

I've watched every finals game I can find on YouTube and I'm crying already

Yep, the nerves have arrived.

It's going to be a long 11 hours.

At least its not 9/11 today......Port can have that date.....another advantage of finishing on top!

I see you're new to game day threads on Demonland.... I would avoid it once the game actually starts if you're looking for all of the above.

100% Jaded.  As soon as the ball is bounced, I’ll be out of here.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
