The AFL are so boring.........we need something to spice up this rubbish and get our minds off lockup....Toby should have been allowed to play...his punishment, no free kicks at all for the whole game.

Now that would be worth watching.

Netflix probably a better choice - Hawkins could even “do a Toby” on Razor Ray and would get off.

Parfit injury hurts the Cats for next week. Cmon Giants toughen up and soften them up for us!

Geez, it must be hard being a mid for GWS right now looking up and seeing bugger all up forward to go to. Very deflating.

Cats are piling numbers back which GWS are matching to prevent intercepts but it just means the Cats forwardline looks empty and its very hard to stop Hawkins and Cameron in one on ones.

I hate Geelong more than any team but they're home here. GWS will need to kick at least 6 more goals to win (conservatively) and I just don't think they have the manpower.

They'd have to be seething at Toby after crapping the bed again in finals.

Cameron hasn’t had to really stretch his out yet.  Take him running.

15 pts, old legs, I haven't given this game away just yet...

Still saddens me he's gone.

I can't get any lower,  still I feel I'm sinking. Haunting lyrics now.

Still brings tears to my eyes watching the last gig. Was saying goodbye. Heart rending.

Based on what we've witnessed so far tonight, if the Dees come to play next Friday, it will be a soft passage into the GF (not ideal imo).

Definitely we're on the best side of the finals draw based on this rubbish tonight. Sorry that jesse is out .

Jeelong need to be at least 4 goals up preferably 5  or they will get over run.
neither side should worry us

Leon Cameron with all the inspiring personality of a wallpaper

To be fair I wouldn’t exactly label Goody an excitement machine.

It is still a pathetic match.

Incredible album but nom de plume is the best, for mine. Having said that, DOTU is cracking. Tighter and Tighter a portent of things to come.

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
