Unless Cameron, Daniher, Bailey and Zorko go mad, I can't see how Brisbane kick a winning score. Brisbane have been the highest scoring team this year! The seasons stats of Lions v Dogs would be a worry for dogs supporters. Pates 9,695 Posted September 2, 2021 Posted September 2, 2021 If the doggies bring their pressure game it flows through into the rest of their game. The Lions and Port both have both through beating the easy teams but not getting the job done much against the better teams. The doggies have scalps against the good teams but just stopped dead right at the end of the season. They can still be quite damaging, their bigger issue is that I don’t think they can win the flag without Bruce. Lions in straight sets is very possible. With Toby out I think the cats will get the job done, I’m just hoping that it’s a super bruising encounter and they leave the cats limping into next week. Quote
titan_uranus 25,244 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Dogs are being seriously over-rated based on a win vs one of the weakest finals sides (an 11-11 Essendon whose late season form came from beating the bottom 5) in recent memory. And they're on a six-day break against Brisbane's seven-day break, travelling interstate to play Brisbane at the Gabba, where the Lions haven't lost since Round 1 (10-game wining streak) and have won 29 of their last 34 games, and where the Dogs have lost 7 of their last 8. I expect a Brisbane win. I also expect a Geelong win, but if a side were to go out in straight sets it would be a side carrying 11 players over the age of 30 who haven't had a break in 3 months. 3 Quote
Rocknroll 1,010 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 (edited) Tonights game what are we hoping for? for me, Mummy to play his final game by running through and hurting all in sundry. maybe some soft tissue injuries. dees189227 12,509 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 I'd feel more confident against the giants. I'd be nervous facing geelong next week. But a tough game and some inhuries would help. But part of me would love to see geelong go out. Quote
Meggs 598 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Meggs has foreseen a Cats win once Swans couldn’t get the job done last week. No Greene or Green means the Giants’ chances are low. Have the Dees ever met the Cats 3 times in a season and won all 3? Quote
bush demon 2,207 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 I know in '64 we beat them at Kardinia Park after beating them pre-season in Hawaii and San Francisco! 1 Quote
Vitamin Dee 903 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Let’s hope it’s a bloodbath 🥊🥊 Quote
Rocknroll 1,010 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Im not fearful of any side, but if they are sore and coming off a bone crunching game will make me happy. The green’s losses to big to cover. Quote

Rab D Nesbitt 8,947 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 With the prospect that Mumford might be playing his final AFL game (again) tonight lets hope for a bit of carnage on his way out. 1 Quote
Demonstone 23,548 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 It would be a thrill to see Big Mummy reprise the role of Big Carl in the last round of 1980. 1 Quote
Ted Lasso 19,586 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 People talk about the Cats having a bad record in finals, but honestly it seems like the have a bad record against top 8 teams regardless of when it is, the generally seem to beat whoever at GMHBA stadium, and that gets them up the ladder, but their record against top 6 sides is really really poor for a team that consistently considered a premiership contender. any team that can turn up the heat on them outside of GMHBA is a very strong chance of winning 1 Quote
Straight Sets Simon 23,113 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 It’s a shame this game isn’t in Melbourne, it would be a hard slog in this weather. Quote
Straight Sets Simon 23,113 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Hogan out, Geelong can’t lose this surely. 1 Quote
Demonland 74,320 Posted September 3, 2021 Author Posted September 3, 2021 Geelong are the luckiest [censored] going around. Quote
Nelo 813 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Hogan always injured. Will never play more than 15 games in a season. Quote
dees189227 12,509 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 why would Phil davis be an emergency to replace Hogan? If davis was fit surely he'd come in and not because someone has pulled out injured. 1 Quote
DubDee 26,656 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Hogan out?!?! Farrrrkkk there goes the game. And Phil Davis? How long til he does his calf? Quote
Gawndy the Great 9,011 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 The guy is clearly soft tissue injury prone. What a shame. No way GWS can win this. They just lost 2 key forwards. How lucky are the cats. Quote
Nelo 813 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Let’s hope for plenty of injuries tonight. Nothing serious, just a few hamstring or calf injuries. Quote
DubDee 26,656 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Carn the Giants. Make a game of it. Go in hard. worst case is an early big lead to Cats and then they cruise Quote
Pottsydee 161 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Really feel for Jesse Hogan. Kicked 2 in his first final last week, would have been primed For tonight. 1 Quote
GCDee 3,202 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Is it too much to ask for hard, jarring and bruising game which goes into triple OT resulting in multiple suspensions. 1 Quote
Chook 15,068 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 It's Friday night. The weekend is ahead and your footy team is safely into a Preliminary final. There's a game on tonight, two sides battling for the privilege of facing yours. You've had a hard week's work, and met a big deadline. You've just come home from a long run, and there's cold beer and warm chicken. You've just had a nice warm shower. Your playlist has shuffled its way through to "These Days" by Powderfinger. Life is ok sometimes. 3 1 1 Quote
