I can think of very few things that will remove the smile on my face today.

I was critical of Spargo early but he played very well after half time.

Ha, you were super critical of everyone picket! Particularly Max. Hope you are feeling better about our team this morning.

The game wasnt on the telly here in Cairns.  Is it safe to come out from under my rock?

The messages from down south were so miserable that I turned off my phone at half time.

Go Dees....

Scott took Dangerfield and Selwood off late in the last qtr.  (I'm guessing to keep them fresh for next week as he said in his press conf he would have liked the pre-finals bye).

It backfired.  With 5 minutes to go they were both stuck on the bench.  The ball was in our fwd line and I was yelling to keep the ball away from the i/change bench.  Not sure when they got back on but they couldn't stop our momentum.

It looked like Scott had packed up, preserved his 'stars' and readying for next week to be the 'Home' team.  Instead they face Port in their cauldron!!

Own goal!

Amd a 3rd on Clarry

And the late call of HtB against ANB

The umpiring all night was atrocious

The Bowey dangerous tackle might have been the worst free kick I’ve ever seen. But hey, the umps came through when it mattered

The way we won that was poetic justice.

- A horrible insufficient intent decision that has cursed us once this year almost cost us again.

- Max Gawn kicking the goal after the miss in 2018

- A goal after the siren at GMHBA which redeemed us for that Tuohy goal.

- A win to seal first on the ladder at a ground that has haunted us in the past.

You could not script it better!

I love this group and have so much faith that we can turn it around in any game.

Bring on the Lions

3 more wins to go!

I reckon Tom Sparrow deserves a shout out after some of the commentary on here over the last couple of weeks. He played a massive game.

Port is a better match up for them, and probably for us! That said, the first place finish and the belief is surely invaluable

"Don't forget, Clayton. Next meeting of the player's assoc is on Wed nite, mate. We're going to release a statement condemning ducking, throwing, and cheap shots like eye gouging and targeting the head. Can I count on your support?"

And the time delay in waiting for cats ruckman to jog down to our forward line for a ruck contest.

The list of narratives is endless. Guthrie, the guy that pasted Max after that Rd 1 2018 miss was the man who kicked it out on the full.

You just couldn't make this up..

I wonder if they were talking about Maxys goal shooting?

If i'm not mistaken i think that clip is from a pub in England, when England scored the winner to beat Wales at Euro 2016

I feel like  Raymond K  Hessel this morning. I lived in Geelong during  186 period and to beat that club in this way was  just epic.

Now  to win it all. go boys

Watching the replay now. That second quarter we were all over them and then a couple things went their way, and then they could do no wrong for 10 minutes. There was a VERY late holding the ball paid against ANB in the middle of the ground that really changed the momentum of the game.

Imagine having ancient players,  like Higgins and Isaac Smith for the next two 3 years the two guys are cooked, not playing Jordon Clark and Quinton narkle are huge mistake, hope both seek trades at year's end, leave Geelong with no star under the age of 25.

I may watch the replay for the whole day

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
