Is anyone else quietly hoping that North upset Sydney today?

North plays Adelaide next week and with a Kangaroo win today and a really good percentage-smashing of Adelaide tomorrow it would actually make next weeks' game a wooden spoon battle.

With Jason Horne on the line, I could see the Crows losing that one while North's recovery through the second half of the season deserves better than the spoon.

Full credit to North - after the bye they've gone 3W 1D 5L and not a single blowout loss in it. That's really impressive in a season that started as badly as Melbourne 2013 (No, wait, nope, nope, just because everyone thought they might go winless for the year doesn't make it that bad...)

I just don’t want some little [censored] kicking a goal after the siren in our game…

Seeing pretty much all of us (who aren't already in retirement homes) haven't even seen a premiership, it makes

us a bit of joke to be mocking other teams who actually have the Cups in the bank. When we finally do win one

then we have some ground to stand on.

Not exactly the tastiest of menus today in terms of what’s on offer.

Geelong V St Kilda the pick of the bunch, but that game could go south in a hurry if the “bad” St Kilda rocks up.

You're probably right. However, the difference is that the 'not 15' is necessary to follow long established rules of the game.

I get that it’s definitely necessary. What I meant is that it can be the worst call when the player in question, ie., the bloke who just marked in front of the oppo’s goals, doesn’t hear it. Provided everyone else heard it, he is sure to be tackled and, even worse, caught HTB.

Hopefully the Hawks and Saints get over the line today. We can then sew up top spot with a win over the Crows tomorrow and then rest some players against the Cats.

Port says hi.

Hawks kept doggies to just a 1 goal lead, with 6 minutes left in first quarter and apparently dogs have the breeze, fingers crossed!

Five minutes in and 2 holding the ball decisions against Bontempelli. The umpires have been possessed by aliens!

In a standard game I have seen about 10 ‘missed’ frees that would go for the Dogs. I wonder if the fear of Clarkson public lashing has scared them straight - albeit temporarily.

I saw the 64 game and I'm still in my home thanks!!!!

I reckon “not 15” is worse. Especially if you’re a defender who’s just marked in the opposition goal-square. 😬

'Not 15' . . . as it leaves the boot. My brain often thinks the same, but I'm not an AFL umpire. Wait until it doesn't go 15 meters before declaring it hasn't travelled 15 meters maybe?

Hawthorns pressure is pretty good if they could just make the most of their opportunities they could win.

Clarko’s parting gift to the Hawks - get as high up the ladder after some late season meaningless wins and cost themselves a mint draft pick after a mostly lousy year.

Jeez, the Dogs look bloody ordinary today.

The Hawks in their 'Clarko's Farewell Tour' are in a good spot to claim another victim

How many clear OOB have gone against hawks ??? PLENTY

Dogs are an ordinary side if they don’t win clearances.  Hawks splitting them so far.

Where are all those muppets that said we should have kept Frost? Still an absolute liability. Bulldogs haven't looked like kicking a goal, except for the two times Frost has turned it over.

I picked Hawthorn today, as much as I loathe them. Clarkson is a coaching genius and his game day coaching a particular strength. Watching it now, it looks like the Dogs will come over the top in the 2nd half but It would be great for the Dees to see the Doggies get rolled.

Dogs look horrendous. Mistake ridden. No system. Absolutely all in front of the Hawks now. Brilliant for us if Dogs lose this.

Dogs losing doesn’t really help us if:

Port win twice

Geelong win twice.

If that’s the case we’ll all be booking flights for Adelaide for the qualifying final.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
