Great last half the small but excited crowd loved every minute - go dees

Spargo doesn’t waste a kick. He doesn’t do the “traditional” small forward magic, but if he gets the ball, it goes to a teammate every time. I’ve come around.

He’s also incredibly hard at it and creates a lot of options. Competes incredibly well. He’s always been underrated by most on here!

I actually don't think Brisbane could have played much better in the first half. They marked everything, forwards kicked goals from everywhere and the had lose balls go there way.

2nd half we outworked them everywhere. No more Brisbane marking everything and the ball falling their way and we spanked them.

What a performance Melbourne. Pure class. We get challenged and we rise to it every time.

Go DEES

Came from Albury. Had too leave at half time as two non supporter c#@ts were just mouthing off all the time.

Didn't want to commit homicide and go to prison for these f@$wits.

Crowd was crowded into 3 bays and it was like being at the cinema.

The umpiring was a disgrace. There were lots of blocks and holds and Max was one of the main victims. He got a lot of wacks in the head. Jacko was pushed in the back in ruck contests. It seems like the only thing we could possibly do to avoid the scragging is to socially distance. The umpires seemed really hot on blocks in the last few weeks but they ignored them today? Also no frees for chopping the arms or over the shoulder.

The other annoying thing was a graphic that would pop up on the scoreboard of an umpires whistle and an explanation of the free kick! Eg. Marking infringement.

So happy I watched the 2nd half at the hotel room. Pleased for the true believers and especially for DemonOx

Teams try to get the KO in the first few rounds  against us, but we are willing to go 15 rounds and win on points. I’d love to give a team 6 quarters to try and knock us off. The air just smells different.

Why?

Because hanging [censored] on players three minutes after the siren goes when we are 11-1 is a [censored] effort

Well @DemonOX your mum was pleasantly surprised that we were on top of the ladder during the week. Imagine how she’d feel right now smiling down at her boy watching his mighty Dees get the job done. ❤️?

Go and have a spell.   A very long spell

Are you the supporter who defends Jake Melkshams five disposals?

Apparently you are.

Look..its nothing personal' Its just the way it is.

I so wish he would be a player who impacts the scoreboard but he simply doesnt. Less than Sam w,.

its just the facts, not malicioius,

Charlie Spargo is very good

Get your exclemation mark button fixed.

Continues to turn opponent inside out, out smarts - EVERYONE!!!

SENSATIONAL GAME FROM HIM!!!

Sorry Guys, but on game day, I will never come on to this site again.  For 3/4's of this game, you would have thought we were getting spanked by 10 goals.  Celebrate your Dees, but look at the positives please.

BTW, I think we might be on the verge of something special.  Enjoy the ride, but in future, I stay out of here on game day

Gary Lyon almost in tears he is so excited. He is choking up, and that's OK so am I, such a sensational win.

Tmac Oliver Trac Spargo Gus Rivers Kozzie Maxy ANB , votes going to be hard, alot of people really lifted.

Our running, I am sorry to say this but Burgess needs to be treated like a Pharaoh's engineer, and not allowed to leave. We just made Brisbane look silly.

Very smrt

Make no mistake, one of the best Dees wins for a long time. Looked down and out at half time against a very strong Brisbane side. Kudos to them for the first half performance.

Which is why the win was so damn sweet. To come back and put on a complete 2nd half clinic was extremely satisfying. Love this team.

  • PREVIEW: Sydney

The two teams competing at the MCG on Sunday afternoon have each traversed a long and arduous path since their previous encounter on a sweltering March evening in Sydney a season and a half ago. Both experienced periods of success at various times last year. The Demons ran out of steam in midseason while the Swans went on to narrowly miss the ultimate prize in the sport. Now, they find themselves outside of finals contention as the season approaches the halfway mark. The winner this week will remain in contact with the leading pack, while the loser may well find itself on a precipice, staring into the abyss. The current season has presented numerous challenges for most clubs, particularly those positioned in the middle tier. The Essendon experience in suffering a significant 91-point loss to the Bulldogs, just one week after defeating the Swans, may not be typical, but it illustrates the unpredictability of outcomes under the league’s present set up.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

  • PREGAME: Sydney

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
