Is this the interview that you speak of?

It's really not that bad. We came 13th, 17th, 17th, 16th, 13th in the 5 years prior. He doesn't owe us anything. He made himself an A grade quality player because he left Melbourne. Best decision he's ever made. He got into career best form at the pies so he clearly needed a change of scenery.

Certainly sounds like a bloke who was pushed (not very hard at all)

he couldn’t wait to get out of the joint, that would be the only reason he was pushed....

Just can't see a role for him alas. Lever is our intercept mark in the back line, and Fritsch is our medium sized marking forward.
While I don't hold grudges, some of his [censored] comments about his time with us have been remembered too.

Besides we are the future and looking for younger players....so howes about he just stay at cfc.

He's been Collingwooded. The only good players we ever got from them were Peter Moore, Henry Coles and RIP Flash Gordon.

Oi John Dellamarta was handy

at the same time we take players like May and Langdon and just pretend they aren't only here for more money and arguably more success. Get your blinkers off and see the afl environment for what it is.

Yes anyone who wants to come here are heroes.

If you leave for money or to play at a famous club, it’s all personal gain.

couple of years ago we were a basket case, with these players the sum is greater than the individual.
But if I barracked for freo or gcsuns why wouldn’t  I have right to regard some as less than heroes

players leave and change for many reasons, I like players and dislike others.
I did not mind Alves going to North or others leaving after a Iong time with us.

just my opinion

Great player, loved him at the Dees, reads the play very well, and kicks really well on both feet. Loved his speccies - wish there was more of them.

But no, wouldn't take him back. Lever is a better intercept mark, May and Salem are better kicks, and we have a heap of basically untried talent playing at Casey, and he is now very injury prone.

I met him once on the golf course, he was playing with Jared rivers - didn't come across as a DH to me, just a really good bloke.

We wouldn't trade for him because we don't need him now but it's a myth he left for money.  He wanted to stay at MFC with his mates but we didn't want him.  That may or may not have been justified but the decision was ours, he didn't walk out.

Secondly anyone who thinks he's not a really good player is building a rhetoric to lessen the disappointment of him leaving.  He is a fantastic player and had he not suffered injury would probably have been AA.  He's one of my favourite players to watch outside MFC.  Skill, poise and plays the game in the way it should be played.

A very good assessment about the club’s football department’s underestimation of Howe’s ability and his value to the club as a draw card. I think we had issues about our salary cap because I recall something about Collingwood paying him more than the $400k we offered. Whatever, the case he’s definitely repaid them with his service but now, going on 31 years of age and with injuries behind him, he’s going to slow down.

Does anyone know how much Howe’s on?

At least those who are angry at him for his sour grapes comments might get some satisfaction from thinking that his wage is contributing to Collingwood’s current list management woes.

Not sure if the prospect of playing finals was a reason for him moving to Collingwood, but the way things are looking he won’t be far ahead, if at all, during his time at Collingwood on that front either. Melbourne having played finals in 2018 and likely this year as well, compared to Collingwood in 2018 and 2019, and he missed their brief final appearance last year.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
